Natalia Silva maintained her perfect promotional record Saturday, but not everyone agreed with it.

At UFC 324, Silva (20-5-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) added another one to the win column. It was a decision that many viewers in the arena and at home questioned, but a victory is a victory.

Silva defeated Rose Namajunas (14-8 MMA, 12-7 UFC) via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) and may have punched her ticket to a title shot by doing so. The three-round women's flyweight bout took place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Over the course of 15 minutes, it was a fairly uneventful fight. Both women aimed to play chess rather than brawl. Namajunas mixed in some takedown attempts and dragged the fight to the ground late in Round 2.

There was much clinching and much air-punching. Ultimately, the three opinions that mattered leaned in favor of Silva when the dust settled and the final bell had rung.

Silva, 28, has been on a trajectory that's increasingly pointed at championship potential. Prior to her win over Namajunas, Silva picked up victories over former champions Alexa Grasso and Jessica Andrade, as well as contenders Jasmine Jasudavicius and Viviane Araujo among others.

With the victory, Silva may have earned herself a crack at champion Valentina Shevchenko. Other contenders include Maycee Barber and Alexa Grasso, who fight in March, as well as Erin Blanchfield, who does not currently have a fight booked.

Namajunas, 33, has lost and she's won. But somehow, almost in an exclusive way, she's long found a way to maintain a top contender.
