The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Las Vegas on Saturday, July 11, for UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena. The event was headlined by the highly anticipated return of former two-division champion Conor McGregor, who faced off against former featherweight king Max Holloway.
Unfortunately, after a night full of exciting fights and finishes, the main event left a lot to be desired.
Just seconds into the opening round, McGregor attempted to throw a leaping leg kick and appeared to blow out his knee. McGregor continued to slip and fall around the cage, before referee Mike Beltran called off the fight.

It was a disappointing end to a highly hyped night, and now fans will be left wondering whether we will see McGregor in the cage again.
The UFC broadcast replayed the moment seconds into the bout where McGregor threw a flashy kick, only to damage his own knee while landing.
While the night came to an abrupt and disappointing end, there were still some thrilling moments and highlights throughout the night.
From Paddy Pimblett’s technical submission in under one minute to Gable Steveson’s dominant UFC debut and a thrilling back-and-forth bout between Mario Bautista and Cory Sandhagen, there was plenty to entertain the fans.
