UConn’s athletic department is asking for help from fans, alumni, the community – well, everyone remotely affiliated with the school.

UConn has launched the Pledge Per Win campaign for fall sports. Through the initiative, donors can make financial pledges tied to the number of wins a team has – or other specified marks reached – in the 2026 season.

The sports involved in the promotion are football, men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, golf and volleyball.

For example, if you are a big soccer fan, you could target your pledge to events such as wins, goals scored, saves made or clean sheets recorded by the goalie.

Make Every Moment Count This Fall!

The Pledge Per Win campaign is bigger and better for Fall 2026. Support your favorite Huskies by pledging per win, stat, or milestone all season long.

How does it work?

Each feat has a dollar value attached. Donors will pledge $20.26 per win by the men’s soccer team, $5 per goal, $10 per shutout and $3 per save.

Here’s more from the campaign website:

“Based on last season’s statistics, if you pledge $3 per save and the Huskies record 99 saves during the season, your total gift will be $297. If you pledge $5 per goal and the team scores 35 goals, your total gift will be $175. If you pledge $10 per shutout and the Huskies record 8 shutouts, your total gift will be $80. If you pledge $20.26 per win and the team earns 12 wins, your total gift will be $243.12.”

At the end of the season, donors will pay the total the athletes have earned through performance on the court of field of play.

Go big with golf

If you’re hoping to make a big donation, look at golf.

The pledge for a birdie by any team member is $2, or $5 for an eagle. But the stakes get higher: $100 for a tournament win, $1,000 for every player who hits a hole-in-one.

Who benefits from Pledge Per Win?

According to the athletic department, the money raised via the fundraising campaign will help provide student-athletes with “critical resources” that include training, equipment, travel, nutrition and team operations.

Pledges can be made on the Pledge Per Win website.

Final thought

Pledge Per Win is a fun fundraiser. It offers fans, parents, community members and others a chance to support their favorite team directly with a donation that won’t necessarily break the bank.

It will be interesting to see how much the Huskies bring in this fall. And if they repeat Pledge Per Win with the winter sports, just what the pledge price for made 3-pointers, assists, rebounds, foul shots and wins by the men's and women's basketball teams?. It could get pricey.
