UCLA women’s basketball acquired Notre Dame transfer guard KK Bransford on Tuesday.
Bransford was part of the Notre Dame program for four seasons. She redshirted the 2024-25 season as a junior after suffering a lower-body injury, which means she is joining UCLA with one year of NCAA eligibility remaining.
Bransford is the fifth transfer the Bruins have added this offseason. In addition to Bransford, UCLA has signed North Carolina guard Elina Aarnisalo, Arkansas guard Bonnie Deas, TCU guard Donovyn Hunter and Iowa State forward Addy Brown.
After winning the national championship earlier in April, UCLA head coach Cori Close said she wanted to sign five transfers. With the addition of Bransford, UCLA has 11 players and has room to sign more players this offseason.
Bransford will bring veteran experience and versatility to the Bruins’ squad next season. She has experience playing every position on the court except for center, and Bransford started in nine of 24 games she played in with the Fighting Irish last season.
She averaged 7.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals across those 24 games. Bransford missed 12 games in the middle of the season with a knee injury.
With the Fighting Irish, Bransford won two Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season titles and one ACC Tournament title.

Bransford was also a 2022 McDonald’s All-American and 2022 Naismith High School All-American before starting her career with Notre Dame.
