On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX. With Seattle’s win, four USC players earned Super Bowl rings: Sam Darnold, Leonard Williams, Uchenna Nwosu, and Brandon Pili.
While Darnold will draw the headlines as the quarterback, Nwosu made perhaps the biggest play of the entire game. With the Patriots driving in the fourth quarter looking to make it a one possession game, Nwosu picked off quarterback Drake Maye’s pass and ran it back 45 yards for a touchdown.
The play put Seattle up 29-7, effectively sealing the game. All that was left to do was run out the last few minutes of clock, and Nwosu and the Seahawks were champions.
The play was a culmination of Nwosu’s rise. A three-star recruit coming out of high school, he performed well above his recruiting ranking during his time with the Trojans, earning first
