The UCF Knights are used to this by now.

For the third time in three days, they're facing uncooperative weather in the NCAA Tournament. The latest example: Their contest against Auburn will not begin at 3 p.m. on May 31 as originally intended. No new start time has been decided.

The delay was announced just 18 minutes before the scheduled first pitch, as a storm cell approached Plainsman Park from the north.

On Friday, UCF encountered two interruptions. Its tilt against North Carolina State was pushed back two hours by rain. Then, in the eighth inning, thunderstorms intervened again, forcing a suspension to Saturday afternoon.

The Knights made it through Saturday — polishing off their 9-3 win over the Wolfpack before falling 13-6 to Milwaukee — without any precipitation.

The winner of UCF-Auburn will advance to the Auburn Regional finals against Milwaukee. The loser will be eliminated.
