It's unclear whether the U.S. women's hockey team will make an appearance at the White House to meet with President Donald Trump following the team's gold-medal win at the 2026 Winter Olympics, but the team did commit to another celebration of their victory. Players from the women's team will reportedly attend "She Got Game" weekend in Las Vegas, an event hosted by rapper Flavor Flav.
The 66-year-old rapper appeared to confirm the event — and Team USA's participation — in a post on X on Thursday, announcing the event and using a picture of the women's hockey team in the graphic.
The Gist — a women-led sports media brand — also claimed the event was happening, as did Flavor Flav's publicist, who told the Associated Press the event was real.
A source told the AP that the players on the U.S. women's hockey team worked on their own to accept the invitation, and did not accept the invite through USA Hockey. It's unclear exactly how many members of the team will be able to attend "She Got Game" weekend, which will take place July 16-19.
As for what "She Got Game" weekend entails ... that isn't clear just yet. Flavor Flav's publicist did not provide additional details to the AP on the structure of the event. Neither Flavor Flav nor The Gist offered clarity on that front either. The graphic sent out by both entities merely promises "details coming soon."
While details are scarce, Flavor Flav's enthusiasm for hosting the women's hockey team can't be questioned. The rapper officially sent out an invite to the team Monday, saying he would love to host them in Las Vegas for "a real celebration."

Trump — who engaged in a phone call with players from the men's team — laughingly told the men, "We're going to have to bring the women's team, you do know that. I do believe I probably would be impeached." That comment drew laughs from players in the locker room.
While Trump received criticism for his tone during the call, an invite was extended to the women's team to attend the State of the Union. The women's team declined that invite, citing "previously scheduled academic and professional commitment," per NBC News. Over half of the players on the men's team were in attendance during the State of the Union on Tuesday.
Trump has claimed the women's team "will soon be coming" to visit the White House, though the team has not announced a visit just yet.
If that does happen, at least one prominent member of the women's team doesn't seem likely to attend. That would be record-setting forward Hilary Knight, who called Trump's joke "distasteful." Knight's teammate Hayley Scamurra also expressed disappointment in Trump's comments, saying, "The call was what it was," when asked about the situation.
The team took a much different track with Flavor Flav's invite. When asked about his offer Wednesday, Team USA forward Alex Carpenter was complimentary of the rapper stepping up to celebrate the women. Carpenter implied that the team would take Flavor Flav up on the invite, paving the way for Thursday's announcement.
While the women's team and players seemed receptive to the offer, they have not officially confirmed they will attend the event.
