It is not supposed to be this easy.

Wyndham Clark walked out of his second round of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills about as tall as one can. Clark made it to the weekend with a 7-under score to his name, a 4-shot lead of his closest challenger when he signed his scorecard.

There is a long way to go obviously, and it stands to reason that at some point Shinnecock will bite back. So far though Clark has look relatively unbothered by the challenge. Given that he is a past U.S. Open winner this sort of makes sense.

Clark won the CJ CUP earlier this season and has been in pretty solid form all season. He is going to need his best form across the weekend to close this thing out, but he is making it seem like that is a formality more than tnything.

Bring on the weekend at Shinnecock.
