  • The Oakland, California-native won two gold medals during the 2026 Winter Olympics

Team USA fan-favorite Alysa Liu has a lifetime of sweet treats waiting for her at home.

Just one day after Liu, 20, won the gold for her program in the figure skating final on Feb. 19, an ice cream shop in her hometown posted a proposition to the athlete.

Oakland, California’s Fentons Creamery and Restaurant wrote on Instagram, “alysa liu from the ice to the world stage, you continue to inspire our entire community. What an incredible achievement, and what a moment for Oakland.”

The post continued, “Ice cream for life? Seriously. We mean it. ✨When you’re ready to celebrate, we would love to host your homecoming party at Fentons Creamery. The sundaes are on standby.”

The spot was founded in 1894 before opening a second location in Vacaville, Calif. Fentons serves sundaes, milkshakes and scoops along with a full food menu of sandwiches, burgers and salads.

Liu, who retired from figure skating altogether in 2022 before finding joy in the sport again in 2024, won two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She won a gold medal for her free skate to “MacArthur Park" by Donna Summer on Thursday, Feb. 19, after winning gold for the team event on Feb. 8.

In her final Italy performance she skated to "Stateside" by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson at the Milano Ice Skating Arena on Feb. 21 during the Olympic figure skating exhibition gala.

The gala is a post-competition tradition that features the podiums of all three completed figure skating events, plus other notable names from all over the world. This year's gala includes Liu, Ilia Malinin, Amber Glenn, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea, Mikhail Shaidorov and Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry. The gala is not for scores or medals.
