One guy got injured while having an MVP season and his team won a SB.

One went to consecutive conference championship games and had a butt fumble.

One is trying to resurrect his career and isn't even available for trade by the team he's on.

One is a journeyman who has been in the playoffs.

One is dead.

If you go back and listen to what MLF said he wants from his QB...it's a lot of Ty Simpson's strengths.
Yeah I agree. Simpson has several traits that fit what MLF is looking for in a QB.

But Simpson is not worth the 3rd pick in the draft and I don't think he makes it to the 2nd round. So the question is how early would the Cardinals be willing to take Simpson if they moved up from their 2nd round pick or maybe back from the #3 overall? Also what about teams like the Jets or Steelers sniping Simpson who pick in the middle of the 1st round.

I'd be good with the trade back for Simpson but not the trade up.

I would not take Simpson at 3. I might be missing something, but I haven't seen any recent arguments to take him there so I don't know why it is a convo focus.

I think you can make the argument at 34 is a great place to grab him, and the other option would be to trade back into the 1st round to get the 5th year option if you feel that is important.

I am also not going to get bent out of shape if another team snags him in the top 20. He is a risky prospect and while I am risk tolerant when it comes to QB, I would not give up more than the Giants did last year for Dart.

No I was just saying that if the Cardinals want him they probably will either need to move back from #3 or up from #34 to get him.

Jeebus the Ringer has Simpson #49 on their big board and compares him to Kenny Pickett.
Which is totally accurate.

This 1st round grade ******** is totally media driven. The Jets need a QB more than we do and they aint going near this dude with a 10ft pole. They are likely behind some of this ******** so they can have some moronic GM move ahead of us and take this dude 2.

Every draft season you have an 'up n comer' flying through hype. It's not what you know it's who you know

I strongly feel that Mendoza and Simpson are weak picks. It's a draft heavy defense draft so?

Last draft year the Cards drafted almost all defense right? They ignored the giant reason why they should've went o line

My busts this year you heard it here first
Mendoza
Simpson
Reese
Bain

Stars include

Sonny Styles
Caleb Downs
David Bailey

Are you pretzeling in an attempt to argue that’s an attractive group? You know most are still in the league and we collectively have eyes. And brains. Right?

i think the vid sums up this POV well -- which is that he is conflicted

tape is really good (early)

but

historic comps say he wont make it
Thank you, great summarization. I don’t think everybody watched the entire video.

There is starting to be more smoke around this as Charles Davis has now mocked Ty Simpson to the Cardinals.

believes QB Ty Simpson is one of the biggest "wild cards" of the NFL Draft.

"Despite his exceptional instincts and awareness as a natural pocket passer, Simpson faces questions about his NFL readiness after making just 15 starts at Alabama."

I like a lot of what Simpson has in terms of skills but the 15 starts thing is a huge red flag historically. You are betting on an outlier outcome.
