I’m pretty sure you said you only watched 2 games.
Dude was surrounded by 5 star recruits and somehow his teammates let him down... I just don't see it.
Guess what? He also went against other 5 star recruits as well. Also, just because you are a 5 star recruit, doesn’t mean you’ll play like a 5 star recruit.
And yeah, some of those other guys didn't put up stats in big games because they didn't play in big games because of the school they were at. Ty Simpson, in his one year, played at the premier school in the country, had several games to show his worth and he was absolute dog crap in those moments.
You still haven’t told me what a *big* game is to you. Rivalry game? Primetime regular season game?
Taking him with the 3rd pick is insanity.
I never said to take him with the 3rd pick. What I hope we do is use our 2nd rounder to trade up into the back of the 1st round. If we’re really lucky, he just falls to our 2nd round pick without trading up.

Primetime regular season game - Had a very good game against UGA on the road. That was his coming out party.

Rivalry game - Had a very good game against Auburn on the road.

Playoff game - Bounced back & showed resilience against Oklahoma, also….on the road.

*BIG GAMES*

Unfortunately, he just ran into a buzzsaw in Indiana.

But I’m still bought in.

So, what comes next? I'm rubber and you're glue....
I asked a question about how a player going to the rams is decade long impactful player, but that same player goes to the cardinals is most likely a bust? I was just curious. I wasn't trying to be an a-hole....just some dumb guy ;)
Different posters making those claims? Logic?

He only played 1 year and I watched like 3 or 4 of his games... so I probably saw a bigger percentage of his career games than almost anyone projected in the top of this draft... at no point during any of those games did I feel like I was watching an NFL prospect of any sort whatsoever.

As I said, I watched about a quarter of his career starts and my takeaway was that Alabama has a shocking bad QB situation for a school of their caliber.

Can I get a justification for drafting this guy that isn't "If you think he's your guy, you draft him"?

Great size? No

Great arm? No

Speed? No

Accuracy? eeeeeh... no

Stats? Nope

Produces in big games? No... horrifically bad.

Can he beat out Jalen Milroe for a starting job? No

Where on earth is the logic for taking this guy in the 1st outside of pure desperation in a year without quality QB prospects?
Not to mention... dude will turn 24 during his rookie season.
That's very old for a rookie...
And a bad sign that he had to physically outgrow his competition at BAMA to get the starting job.... and none of the QB's that kept him on the bench were ever any good .
If your going to have to develop a guy...develop a guy who will be starting for you before he starts getting discounted auto insurance.

I known you werent, lol. Seeing your handler, i just had to make a play on that. No hard feelings. The Rams are one of the best ran organizations in sports period. They have owners who can hire the best scouts and draft the best player. If they think Ty is good, they will do whats necessary to take him. Cardinals only long-term success in recent memory was lucking up on Arians when no one else could take him. Apples to oranges.

We’re so desperate I can be talked into Ty Simpson, just so we can at least say we tried in 2026. In typical Cardinals luck, he’ll likely bust while the Rams and other competent organizations wait til next year and draft some studs ahead of us in next years stacked class.

They could have used one last year.
I think you're vastly overstating the strength of Alabama's roster and understating just how bad the overall play around Simpson was.

Last year was Alabama's single-worst rushing season in its storied history. Single worst. I think you're really glossing over this.

Dear Lord

More of the ‘Alabama had no talent’

1. This is totally fiction.
2. What the hell does Simpson have when he comes here to this crap box franchise?

If they draft this dude fine but if he sees the field this season prepare for another crappy QB.

As I noted... their top running back was averaging over 5 yards per carry over his career prior to Ty Simpson becoming his QB.

And I am still not hearing much of an argument for Ty Simpson. The running game wasn't good... fine. Neither was he.

Last I checked, Ty Simpson ain't blocking.

20-1 TD/Int ratio through 8 games. Pretty damn good, but the injuries mounted.

And your argument is?

The were historically bad running the football. That's indisputable. You can argue vibes, I'll argue facts.

The biggest indicator that Bama isn’t Bama anymore is them getting thrashed on the ground. Saban or Bear aren’t walking thru that door.
