San Antonio defeated Phoenix, 86-81, on July 18 in the NBA Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Two former Tennessee basketball players competed in the contest, while one did not play for the Spurs due to a coach's decision.

Igor Milicic Jr. started and played 21 minutes for San Antonio. He totaled two points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Milicic Jr. converted 1-of-5 field goal attempts.

He played at Tennessee during the 2024-25 season after transferring from Charlotte and Virginia. In his one season at Tennessee, Milicic Jr. appeared in 37 games (37 starts) and is tied for fourth place in most starts in program history.

Zakai Zeigler totaled two points and one rebound for the Spurs in eight minutes. He converted 1-of-2 field goal attempts.

Zeigler played at Tennessee from 2021-25 and helped the Vols advance to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight from 2024-25. He is the school's all-time assists and steals leader.

Ja'Kobi Gillespie did not play due to a coach's decision for the Spurs. He was selected by San Antonio in the second round of the 2026 NBA draft (No. 42 overall).
