The Harrison Twins are back in blue.
Aaron and Andrew Harrison have officially committed to rejoining La Familia, Kentucky’s alumni team, for the 2025 edition of The Basketball Tournament (TBT). Their return comes 11 years after the twins famously announced they would run it back for their sophomore season at UK—and now, they’re doing it again, this time in the professional summer showcase.
La Familia will host the Lexington Regional at Memorial Coliseum from July 18–22. The team’s roster already boasts several former Wildcats, including Willie Cauley-Stein, Doron Lamb, and DeAndre Liggins. With more names expected to join soon, the early core is shaping up to make another deep run in TBT’s single-elimination, winner-take-all format.
Last summer, the Harrisons were key contributors as La Familia advanced to the TBT semifinals. Andrew averaged 11.6 points per game and hit the Elam Ending game-winner against The Ville, Louisville’s alumni squad, in the quarterfinals. Aaron added 7.0 points per game, drilling multiple threes in key matchups.
The twins are best remembered at Kentucky for leading the Wildcats to back-to-back Final Fours (2014, 2015) as part of one of the program’s most iconic recruiting classes. Aaron famously nailed game-winning threes in the Sweet 16, Elite Eight, and Final Four during Kentucky’s 2014 NCAA Tournament run. Andrew, meanwhile, ran the show at point guard, averaging 10.1 points and 3.8 assists across two seasons before being drafted 44th overall by the Suns and later traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Since their UK days, both have carved out professional careers around the globe. Aaron has played in the NBA and across Europe, most recently suiting up in Mexico. Andrew spent three seasons in the NBA with the Grizzlies, Cavaliers, and Pelicans before heading overseas to play in Turkey and China.
Now, they’re back in Lexington with a shot at TBT’s $1 million prize. La Familia could earn home-court advantage throughout the tournament if they’re the first host team to sell 4,000 tickets—a race that pits them against other alumni squads including The Ville, Boeheim’s Army, and AfterShocks.
