The Minnesota Twins have promoted their No. 2-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline to the Major Leagues.
According to JD Cameron of Just Baseball Media, the AL Central club has selected the contract of shortstop Kaelen Culpepper from Triple-A St. Paul.
Culpepper, 23, will likely make his MLB debut in the Twins' upcoming series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
As a first-round draft pick from Kansas State University in 2024, Culpepper brings a strong mix of power and speed to Minnesota's offense.
He hit .271/.367/.478 with 14 home runs in 343 plate appearances. In 20 stolen base attempts, Culpepper swiped 17 bags.
Culpepper's defensive scouting report
Culpepper began his Kansas State career at third base but eventually shifted to shortstop.
"The jury is still out over where Culpepper’s ultimate defensive home will be. He plays a solid shortstop with plenty of arm for the premium position, but his lack of first-step quickness or range could mean a move in the future," Culpepper's MLB Pipeline bio reads.

"He did get a little time at third and second in 2025, and there likely will be more of that as he hits the upper levels full time."
This is an exciting roster move for the Twins as they attempt to chase down the Chicago White Sox in the AL Central standings.
Before Friday's game against the Brewers, they stand three games back of first place.
