President Donald Trump will be on hand to present the trophy at the World Cup Final in New Jersey, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on June 23.

The head of soccer's international governing body, in an interview on "Fox & Friends," confirmed Trump will be part of the post-match trophy presentation July 19. The final is taking place in East Rutherford at MetLife Stadium, temporarily renamed New York New Jersey Stadium for the tournament.

"We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course," Infantino said, adding, "We are together all the time."

The final will mark the second consecutive year Trump will present a major soccer trophy at MetLife Stadium. He awarded the FIFA Club World Cup trophy to Chelsea in July 2025 and celebrated with the winning team, even as some players expressed confusion about his presence.

A government leader joining the World Cup presentation is not unprecedented. King Juan Carlos of Spain handed the trophy to the winning Italian team in 1982, while Queen Elizabeth II presented the trophy to England in the country's only World Cup win in 1966.
