President Donald Trump had little sympathy for fans upset about the extreme cost of Knicks tickets.

Trump spoke to reporters before attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, dismissing complaints about ticket prices and saying fans who cannot afford seats can watch from home.

“They can watch it on television,” Trump said in a clip shared on X/Twitter. “It’s sort of semi-free to watch it on television, but that’s the way life goes.”

Ticket prices for the Knicks’ first NBA Finals appearance in more than two decades have surged on the secondary market, drawing complaints from fans priced out of attending in person.

A viral post on X/Twitter shows ticket prices as high as $53,553. Trump suggested the high prices are a byproduct of the team’s success.

“If the game wasn’t big, if the team wasn’t a big success, you could go very easily,” Trump said. “But that’s the way life is. They’ve had great success.”

Trump also noted that Knicks fans endured years of struggles before the team’s recent playoff run.

“Don’t forget they’ve suffered also losses, and they’ve suffered during the bad time,” Trump said. “Now they have a good time. They have a team that’s amazing.”

The Knicks reached the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years, fueling intense demand for tickets throughout the playoffs.
