NEED TO KNOW
- Travis Kelce was a spectator at Super Bowl LX after playing in the game for the last three consecutive years
- The Chiefs tight end was on hand for the presentation of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, as a past nominee
- Kelce also pulled out of this year's Pro Bowl after making the team for the 11th time in his 13-year career, adding fuel to speculation about his possible retirement
Travis Kelce was in attendance at Super Bowl LX, but — in a rarity for recent years — not as a player.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, was on hand at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 8, for the presentation of the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. Travis was nominated for the award in 2020.
The award, which recognizes a player for "excellence on and off the field," went to Washington Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner this year. Travis stood alongside Jarrett Payton, a former running back and the son of the award's namesake, as Wagner accepted his honor.

Travis also pulled out of this year's Pro Bowl after making the team for the 11th time in his 13-year career, adding fuel to speculation about his possible retirement.
On newsstands now, PEOPLE's latest special edition issue covers his groundbreaking career, from his earliest days to headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show and making history at the Grammys. The 96-page issue is now on Amazon. A print edition in Spanish is available exclusively here.
This is the first time since 2023 that Travis isn't playing in the Super Bowl game. He and the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII and LVIII, before losing last year to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Kelce also won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs in 2019.
His brother, former Eagles center Jason Kelce, recently told PEOPLE, "It is weird, not having Trav in the Super Bowl or playing in it myself. It hasn't happened in a while."
Jason, 38, and his wife, Kylie Kelce, both said they were looking forward to a less-stressful Super Bowl this year.
"There's no stress this year. I've got no skin in the game. I am carefree. I love it," Kylie, 33, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. "I'll be watching at home, and I love watching at home because the snacks are really close by. It's my favorite."
Kylie, who is featured in multiple Super Bowl commercials this year, added that, while her husband and brother would be in attendance at the big game, she was looking forward to relaxing at home.
"I'm also going to be watching the commercials. I'm going to be in all my glory," she said.
