Training Camp In Glendale/Tent Question

I just found this from an PTF article from a few weeks back. Does anyone know if there are talking about the fields that make up LOT F?

"Now, they’re thinking about ending that relationship, with the building of a $4 million air-conditioned tent which would cover a field and a half of artificial turf at a nearby youth sports facility"

Wow. They don't want to help NAU, be seen as pro-community, and give a larger swath of their 'region' an opportunity to watch the team?

4 million for a poorer experience, more logistical nightmares for the players (as in getting TO camp once there, as opposed to the trip before and after), and overall risk a Cowboys bubble collapse situation during summer monsoons?

On top of this they would practice on ARTIFICIAL TURF? Wow.

Paying 4 million to degrade everything; the fan experience, diminish the community outreach, and increase risks to the players, coaches, etc.

I guess I could see them housing some guys in the hotels, but still.

Also somehow I doubt the bubble will accommodate the same number of fans watching practice.

Open fan Practices will be held inside UoP according to Jerecki. Field will be re-sod before the season starts. Gonna be great having them in Glendale. Cant wait to spend alot of time there.

Re-sod before the season starts?? Thats just ********. That field is going to be in shambles. No way fresh sod takes so quickly.

Worst decision this franchise made the whole off season.

Im thinking thats a big fat negative. That thing weighs a bazillion pounds and is a big as a football field. Where would they keep the spare?

Yup, they drive that 18.9 million pound tray down the 101 from the Cards facility.

They have one that is attached to a bunch of railroad tracks.

This is the overall trend in the NFL. The Cards aren't leading the way on this, they are following... as usual.

Look, they saw the HUGE turnout when they had that open practice during the minicamp last year. There is no doubt they will draw more people in Glendale, plus save all the costs and headaches of traveling to Flagstaff. It's an emotional issue for the fans who were able to travel to Flagstaff every year, but that is a minority, not close to a majority.

As for myself, I'll be able to see a camp practice this year for the first time since 2009.

I agree and in my mind it becomes 100x worse if Lot F goes away becuase of it. As a fan two of my favorite things are summer trip to Flag for camp and tailgating in Lot F.

The trend is to practice at their practice facility, NOT their freaking stadium!!!
