The Kansas City Chiefs decided to move on from veteran offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor at the beginning of free agency to free up a significant amount of space in their salary cap.

Taylor, who had manned the right tackle position on Kansas City's offensive line for the last three seasons, signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent on Wednesday, April 8.

While Taylor was a key member of the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII roster, his tenure in Kansas City was mostly defined by prolific bouts of inconsistency that manifested in a deluge of penalties between 2023 and 2025. In 45 games with the Chiefs, Taylor was penalized a total of 40 times, including 16 holding calls and 16 false starts.
