Our New Orleans Saints top-20 series continues as we rank the team's all-time stat leaders regardless of position. After covering the offensive side of the football, ranking passers, rushers, and receivers, we now make our way to the defensive side of the ball, where we'll tackle perhaps the most intriguing statistic of them all -- sacks. While the NFL has only counted sacks since 1982, the team at Pro Football Reference went back further to document games in the earlier days.

Sacks will always be a special category for both fans and players, as it's one of the most difficult stats to achieve. Engaging with a 300-plus-pound offensive lineman and finding your way to the quarterback in roughly four seconds is something only special players can do on a consistent basis. It takes a unique blend of power, speed, technique, and relentless effort to rack up sacks year after year at the highest level.

The Saints, in particular, have some notable names featured on this list, including a Pro Football Hall of Famer and another player who should be a lock for Canton when his career eventually comes to a close. Throughout the franchise's history, New Orleans has been home to several dominant pass rushers who made life miserable for opposing quarterbacks and left a lasting impact on the organization.

With that being said, let's take a look at the 20 players who have recorded the most sacks in New Orleans Saints franchise history. These are unofficial numbers since the NFL hasn't verified them, but it is a more comprehensive look at players who otherwise wouldn't get their time in the spotlight.
