San Francisco (5-8) won its second series during the 2026 MLB season. The Giants defeated Philadelphia (6-6), 5-0, on Wednesday at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California.
The Giants won their first home series of the season, 2-1.
“We won two of those series and played .500 ball, if I'm not mistaken, so it'd be awesome to be in a better situation, but I think we found some things out about ourselves that can be valuable in the long run, and also playing pretty decent ball right now,” first year San Francisco manager Tony Vitello said. “All in all, there's plenty of positives to look at, but we certainly got to be motivated to learn from mistakes in the past and hunt down the best version of ourselves.”
The Giants will next play on Friday, opening a three-game series at Baltimore. Game 1 is slated for 7:15 p.m. EDT at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland (Apple TV).
Vitello served as Tennessee's baseball head coach from 2018-25.
