One of the greatest what-if stories in NFL history is the short-lived team-ups between legendary quarterback Tom Brady and seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Brown appeared in one game with the Patriots, but he was quickly cut after he allegedly sent intimidating text messages to one of his accusers while facing sexual assault allegations back in 2019. He then reunited with Brady in Tampa Bay and won a Super Bowl in the 2020 season.

However, that reunion was also cut short after Brown pulled off his jersey and walked out on Brady and the Buccaneers the following season during a Week 17 matchup against the New York Jets. That led to the troubled wide receiver being released by the team.

Brown never played another snap in the NFL, and he also resorted to taking strange digs at Brady's personal life on social media.

When appearing on Logan Paul's "Impaulsive" podcast, Brady opened up on his relationship with Brown.

"I wanted the best for him. I think I saw a spark in him, that if put in the right place, how incredible it could be for not just the team he was on, but for his life and what he could accomplish," said Brady. "I always hope for the best for him. I met him, and I always admired him as a player. And then I got to play with him, and I actually saw in the meeting room how he could take information and bring it to the field.

"We picked him up at the Patriots, and he played one game—the second game of the year against Miami. The next week in practice, we were playing the Jets. It was a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday practice. We didn't have an incompletion the entire week of practice. That's basically unheard of. And we released him Friday afternoon."

Brady even briefly touched on their time together in Tampa Bay. The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback went to bat for Brown to help get him on a team that ultimately knocked off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for a Lombardi Trophy.

"We ended up going to Tampa, and then he came back after a suspension in Tampa, and I just thought, okay, if I can help him, I'd love to help him because he'd help our team—he'd help his life. And again, I always root for the best," said Brady.

Brown only appeared in one game for the Patriots and hauled in four receptions for 56 yards and one touchdown in his debut with the team. He hauled in 45 catches for 483 yards and four touchdowns in only eight game appearances during the Buccaneers' Super Bowl run.

The Brady and Brown pairing was so dominant that fans are still asking the same question years later—what if?
