todays draft

It would be nice if at the start of the draft they observed a minute's silence or something.

While the draft itself seems almost trivial now, i'm still looking forward to it. This is the first year i'll see it on TV, so at 5pm UK time, i'll be having a beer and watching the merrygoround unfolding

I posted sometihng political last night and saw it was moved. Sorry, i didnt realise there was a politics board. Apologies all.

Anyway, hope today's better than yesterday.

A Typical Draft Day...

But not so typical.

As in past years, I'll be anchored before my TV screen with a pile of draft books and notes - with an unencumbered path downstairs to my office and PC (so I can track the draft on ESPN's Draft Tracker, update the BRS and offer my 2-cents here on the ASFN Board).

And (per Doctor's orders) I'll be logging my 3 miles in 50 minutes prior to the draft. The rain in the northeast has lifted. The sun is shining. Typical pre-draft morning.

Except for one thing - As I walk amidst the spring blossoms, flowers and green lawns of my NJ neighborhood, it will be knowing deep in my gut that heros like Pat Tillman are risking and sacrificing their lives so I can walk in the warm late-April sunshine and then enjoy my favorite event of the year: the draft.
