Robert Saleh got a win in his debut as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, 19-13 over the San Francisco 49ers. It was a tough night for Cam Ward. He did lead a 95-yard touchdown drive the first time the Titans had the ball, but finished the night just 5 of 12 for 57 yards. Some of the issues that haunted him last season still haunted him tonight.

The first-team defense also had a tough night, especially in the secondary. There were too many guys running open down the field when they were in the game. The good news is it is still August, so there is plenty of time for the Titans to fix the issues they had tonight before the games actually count.

Both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears looked good running the ball. Spears had a run where he bounced off a couple of guys for a 25-yard gain. It was Pollard who had the touchdown on the first drive of the game. Julius Chestnut, who always runs the ball well in the preseason, finished the game with 47 yards rushing.

Wan’Dale Robinson had two catches on four targets. The Titans gave him a big contract this season, and you can tell that he is going to be a focal part of this offense. Rookie WR Carnell Tate was targeted three times but was held without a catch.
