With the No. 142 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans used their first fifth-round pick to select OL Fernando Carmona from Arkansas.
Carmona is 6-foot-5 and 316 pounds. He was second-team All-SEC in 2025 and was a team captain at Arkansas.
The Titans came into the draft with major needs at edge defender, wide receiver, guard, center and defensive back, as well as opportunities to improve at running back, tight end, offensive tackle and interior defensive line. In their first offseason under the supervision of coach Robert Saleh, the Titans went on a free agent spending spree, bringing in anticipated starters like DL John Franklin-Myers, WR Wan’Dale Robinson and CBs Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott.
With their two first-round picks on April 23, the Titans selected WR Carnell Tate and DL Keldric Faulk. The Titans traded back into the first round to select Faulk, then pulled off another trade in the late second round to move up and pick LB Anthony Hill Jr. This comes one year after the Titans used the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select quarterback Cam Ward.
Carmona started his college career at San Jose State, where he was a two-year starter at left tackle. He transferred to Arkansas before the 2024 season and started at left tackle for the Razorbacks for a year before bumping inside to left guard in 2025.
Carmona only allowed one sack and three quarterback hits from his guard position in 2025. Some of his best graded games as a pass rusher came against stalwart defenses like Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
At the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, Carmona participated in every drill. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.22 seconds and repped the bench press 26 times.
