The Tennessee Titans are rebuilding their cornerback room with a pair of big-name free agent cornerback signings: Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott, who are both signing with the Titans per multiple media reports.
Get to know each of the Titans new signings below, as the Titans rebuild their defense with additions that include the two cornerbacks as well as defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, a long-time Robert Saleh disciple, per reports.
Taylor, 27, is a local standout who played his high school and college football in Tennessee before emerging as a reliable nickel cornerback in New Orleans. The Saints drafted Taylor in the second round in 2022, since which he’s logged four interceptions and 52 pass breakups. Taylor is fourth in the NFL in pass breakups since entering the league, ranking behind only Denzel Ward, Riq Woolen and Michael Jackson.
In 2025, Taylor intercepted two passes and broke up six more but he was credited with a career-high eight touchdowns allowed. He’s allowed a completion percentage up around 70% each of the last two seasons, but he’s been historically solid at keeping receivers in front of him. In 2024 and 2025, Taylor’s allowed just a little bit more than 5 yards after the catch per reception.
Taylor entered the league as a boundary corner but has spent just as much time on the inside in recent years, including a 2025 season where he played two thirds of his snap at nickel.
Flott is the third member of the New York Giants' 2022 draft class who's been connected with the Titans on the first day of free agency, along with receiver Wan'Dale Robinson and tight end Daniel Bellinger. Just 24 years old, Flott emerged as a No. 1 cornerback option in New York in 2025, logging a career-best eight pass breakups while holding opposing passers to a career-low passer rating against of 72.8 and a career-low completion percentage against of 53.0%.
Flott primarily played on the perimeter, using his 6-foot-1 and 175-pound frame against boundary receivers, but he spent more time in the slot than on the outside back in 2023 so he has experience in both places.
Cornerback is an area of significant need for the Titans, who only return two players under contract at the position for 2026. One is veteran L’Jarius Sneed, who’s seldom been on the field over his two-year tenure with the Titans and makes sense as a cut candidate as the offseason goes on. The other is Marcus Harris, a 2025 sixth-round pick who ended his rookie season on injured reserve.
NFL.com ranked Taylor as the No. 29 best free agent available in 2026, and the third-best cornerback. ESPN.com ranks Taylor as the No. 9 free agent available and No. 1 cornerback, ahead of names like Jamel Dean, Jaylen Watson and Woolen. ESPN ranked Flott as CB No. 7 and overall player No. 64 in the rankings while NFL.com ranked Flott as CB No. 6 and overall player No. 50.
