One of the big questions of the offseason surrounding the Tennessee Titans has been who will play edge in their new-look defense. The Titans traded for Jermaine Johnson and have two hybrid linemen in John Franklin-Myers and first-round pick Keldric Faulk, but they could always use more.
Of course, one player who has been almost completely overlooked throughout the offseason was second-year edge Femi Oladejo. A second-round pick in 2025, Oladejo had a rough rookie season, playing in only six games before fracturing his leg and ending the season on injured reserve. This uneven season has led many to forget about the young defender, and they could be missing the boat.
A raw prospect entering the league with only one year of experience at the edge position, some question his fit in Robert Saleh’s new 4-3 system. But that list of doubters doesn’t include Saleh, who has consistently discussed Femi during the offseason, even pointing out how he was scouted by the San Francisco 49ers heading into the 2025 NFL Draft
Saleh has repeatedly said Oladejo has the skillset to thrive on the edge in his defense, and has now arranged for the young Titans’ defender to have a chance to work with Titans’ legend, Jevon Kearse, to help him hone his craft.
Speaking at an event, Kearse said he will join the team in training camp, specifically to work with Oladejo, and help him become comfortable as the rush-end in Saleh’s wide-nine scheme.
