The Tennessee Titans have announced that Robert Saleh and his coaching staff will have four additional coaches this offseason, selecting four members of the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program to join the club in Nashville to support offseason team activities.
The four coaches: D'Anthony Batiste (offensive line), Darryl Blackstock (linebackers), Larry Dace (special teams and running backs), and Jeremy Holt (performance) will observe, participate, gain experience, and, hopefully, eventually land a full-time NFL coaching position.
Titans running backs coach Randy Jordan serves as the club's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship coordinator and will coordinate two additional groups of coaching assistants, with a second set scheduled to be announced prior to training camp.
Incredibly, Saleh’s first staff with the Titans has seven graduates of the program: Trevor Browder (Titans, 2024), Dalton Hilliard (Commanders, 2025), Greg Lewis (Eagles, 2012), Tony Oden (Packers, 1999; Browns, 2000), Ahmed Saleh (49ers, 2021; Packers, 2024), Rayna Stewart (Colts, 2004), and Isaac Williams (Chiefs, 2021) as full-time coaches heading into the season.
Here is a closer look at the coaches.
Batiste will bring his NFL offensive tackle experience to the offensive line room during these sessions. After graduating from Louisiana-Lafayette in 2003, Batiste took the long road to the league, spending two seasons in the Arena Football League, signing with the Edmonton Eskimos in Canada, before latching on with the Dallas Cowboys in 2006. In all, he saw action in 37 NFL games, making 14 starts with the Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring in 2018.
Currently a strength and conditioning intern for the football and baseball teams at the University of Las Vegas, he has eight seasons of experience as a strength and conditioning assistant with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.
Blackstock was selected for the fellowship for a second time after spending the 2022 offseason with the Los Angeles Rams. Another former NFL player, Blackstock, will bring his experience as a linebacker/defensive end to the team during the offseason. Originally a third-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2005, he spent seven seasons in the league, appearing in 74 games and making 14 starts with the Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, and Las Vegas Raiders.
Blackstock has spent the past eight seasons (2019-25) at the College of William & Mary, serving as special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach since 2023. He also currently holds the title of director of player development and transition.
Dace does not bring NFL experience, but he has been building his resume in the college ranks.Scheduled to work with the Titans’ special teams and running backs, he began his coaching career at Franklin Pierce in 2016 as a wide receivers/special teams coach. He followed that with a short stint at Louisiana College before spending three seasons as a graduate assistant at Tulane, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Following those, he spent 2024 at Bluffton University, and is now the running backs/kick returner coach at Campbell University.
Holt is a Nashville native and a former Tennessee Mr. Football finalist from David Lipscomb High School (now Lipscomb Academy). He will join the Titans to focus on performance, drawing on his background and experience gained after founding Nashville-based AthElite Performance, where he’s worked with NFL players such as Luke Stocker, Corey Davis, Tajae Sharpe, and George Kittle.
