It’s hard to believe that the NFL season will kick off in just 100 days, and teams, including the Tennessee Titans, are busy finishing up their offseason team activities with one eye toward July and the start of training camp.

With this being a big day on the calendar, Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports broke down his most important 100 players in the league with 100 days remaining until the season kicks off, and two Titans made the list: Jeffery Simmons and Cam Ward

No. 56 - Jeffery Simmons - Tennessee Titans - DT

It went under the radar as the Titans struggled, but Simmons had a simply incredible 2025: 11 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles, all career highs. He is outstanding. Robert Saleh, trying to instill a strong defensive identity in his first year in the Music City, hopes he can continue to do so.

Simmons fell in with the 17 offensive and defensive linemen in the trenches section, and for good reason. Simmons was dominant in 2025 and has a chance to take his game to another level under Robert Saleh.

No. 80 - Cam Ward - Tennessee Titans - QB

There was a lot of bad -- sacks, interceptions, missed throws -- on Ward's rookie tape, but he started to do some really fun things late in the year while taking fewer negative plays. The Titans have upgraded his surroundings, spending the No. 4 pick on wide receiver Carnell Tate and bringing in several free agents. Ward said he's lost weight in an effort to be a more effective mover. He doesn't have to be a Pro Bowler in Year 2, but he needs to show strides.

Ward was listed among other quarterbacks that Pereles believes have something to prove in 2026, and it is a solid take, except for failing to point out that the majority of Ward’s improvement came after head coach Brian Callahan had been fired and the coaching staff had actually started to build solid game plans, not to mention the lack of a supporting cast around him in 2025. Ward did flash his potential down the stretch, and the offense performed much better once someone with play-calling experience took over, something that shouldn’t be a problem in 2026 with Brian Daboll running the show.
