Tigers add veteran pitcher Connor Seabold; Beau Brieske to 60-day IL

The Detroit Tigers on Monday added to their pitching depth by signing righthander Connor Seabold to a split major-league deal.

The Tigers placed right-handed reliever Beau Brieske on the 60-day injured list with a left adductor strain. Brieske was shut down with the injury last week.

The Tigers' 40-man roster stands at 40.

Seabold, 30, has appeared in seven games between the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves last season, allowing five runs on 12 hits and six walks over 10.1 innings, spending most of the season in Triple A. He was with the Toronto Blue Jays this spring, before he was granted his release this weekend.

Seabold spent 2024 with Samsung in the Korean Baseball Organization, where he was 11-6 with a 3.43 ERA in 28 starts. He struck out 158 batters in 160 innings.

In parts of four seasons in the majors, which include stops with the Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies, Seabold has a 7.79 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 40 games (19 starts) covering 119 innings. He's fanned 96 and walked 44.

The 6-foot-2 Seabold was a third-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the the 2017 MLB Draft.
