Golf icon Tiger Woods resurfaced on social media Monday, May 25, for the first time since announcing he would enter rehab.
Amid reports he has returned to Switzerland to resume his rehab, Woods posted a Memorial Day tribute to his father, the late Earl Woods.

“My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service,” Woods posted on X. “To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn’t have the greatest country on Earth.”
Earl Woods passed away at age 74 on May 3, 2006. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Woods served a pair of combat tours in Vietnam, one as an infantry officer and the other as a Green Beret.
Inspired by his father’s military service, Tiger Woods visited the Navy SEALs and joined a program that approximated SEALs training.
The 15-time major champion last posted on March 31. That was four days after he was arrested following a car accident near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” Woods posted. “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
According to police reports, Woods attempted to pass a slower vehicle but clipped the back end, which resulted in his Land Rover rolling over. Investigators said Woods showed signs of impairment, and he refused a blood test. He pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanors, DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
On April 1, Martin County Judge Darren Steele approved a request by Douglas Duncan, Woods’ attorney, for the golfer to begin “comprehensive inpatient treatment” outside the country, according to court records. Woods said he couldn’t get help and maintain his privacy in the United States.
He left for Switzerland in early April. On May 14, Woods’ plane returned to Florida, but TMZ reported on Sunday that it returned to Switzerland.
