Oklahoma City Thunder guard Nikola Topić has completed chemotherapy for testicular cancer, his agent, Miško Ražnatović, recently told TV Arena Sport.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti announced on Oct. 30 that Topić was diagnosed after undergoing a biopsy at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment since receiving the results of the biopsy.

Topić has continued working out and training at the team practice facility while receiving treatment. He recently began participating in pregame on-court workouts with teammates and is hopeful to return to game action this season, Ražnatović said.

The chemotherapy was successfully completed, and he is now returning to the training process, although he was active during the therapy as well. It's hard to pinpoint a timeline, but I sincerely hope he gets minutes this year, not only in the G League, but on the NBA floor as well, if everything goes the way it is right now.

Topić was the 12th pick in the 2024 NBA draft after playing with Crvena zvezda in the ABA League. He was sidelined all of last year after undergoing surgery to repair a torn left ACL suffered while playing in the ABA League Finals in May 2024.

The 20-year-old Serbian debuted with the Thunder in summer league in July, averaging 10.8 points, 5.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals in six games. He logged one preseason appearance, recording 10 points, seven assists and four rebounds on Oct. 5.

The organization has rallied around Topić since the diagnosis, offering him support both on and off the court. Presti said previously that Topić "has all of the tools that you can ask for to take on and conquer this situation."
