It's always a welcome sight when Russell Westbrook touches the hardwood in Oklahoma City.
The legendary guard is beloved in the city he once called home for over a decade.
The Oklahoma City Thunder may have ushered in an entirely new era, but Westbrook helped lay the foundation for the basketball culture in the city that landed the franchise in 2008.
The MVP winner and future Hall of Fame guard has become quite the journeyman in the latter stages of his illustrious career, though his welcome in Oklahoma City is always pleasant, as he's always met with cheers.

Even in Game 1 of a second-round series between the Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, Westbrook received a standing ovation.
Westbrook often echoes the same sentiment, reciprocating his love for the city that "raised him."
However, he's a fierce competitor, and in the 48 minutes played in any given game, he's going to give everything he has.
In Game 2, the welcome has been worn and Westbrook has been receiving boos from the crowd that loves him.
"Westbrook with the corner 3-pointer. The OKC crowd boo him for it. Wild stuff," Clemente Almanza shared on X.
When Jaylin Williams fouled Nikola Jokic, Westbrook ran to his defense, which always drew boos from the Thunder crowd.
When the series wraps up, regardless of the result, it's back to love between the two sides.
Westbrook remains heavily involved in the city, investing in the growth and sports culture -- particularly in the soccer scene -- despite having been gone since 2019.
The Thunder have jumped on the Nuggets early, claiming a massive first-quarter lead with no signs of letting off the gas.
