If you knew nothing about De'Zhaun Stribling and he walked into the room, you'd probably assume he was some sort of athlete. Point guard? Wide receiver? He's the latter, and calling him an 'athlete' doesn't quite encompass how gifted this guy is. No wonder he's on the Philadelphia Eagles radar.
At the most recent NFL Combine, he ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash. He showcased a 36-inch vertical and tallied a ten-foot, seven-inch broad jump. His athleticism score wound up being a cool 85, good for seventh among all participating wide receivers. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that he'll meet with the Eagles before the NFL Draft.
Stribling is a burner. It's easy to understand why the Eagles are taking a closer look.
Stribling's physical profile demands attention. He stands at 6'2" and weighs 207 pounds. In his final season at the collegiate level, he played for the Ole Miss Rebels and tallied 55 receptions, 811 yards receiving, and six touchdowns in 15 games. If he were to drop a similar stat line for the Philadelphia Eagles, he could probably win a seat on the city council come the next election.
He won't walk into camp as a top-three receiver, but that doesn't mean he can't get there. When stacked against names like Darius Cooper, Johnny Wilson, Danny Gray, and Elijah Moore, Stribling offers more long-term upside. Younger, faster, and still developing, he fits the mold of a player who could grow into something larger than his current role.
At some point, everything circles back to A.J. Brown. The trade hasn't happened, but the speculation hasn't disappeared either. The Eagles don't wait for uncertainty to become reality. They prepare for it. Bringing in Stribling isn't just about adding depth. It's about protecting the future of the position. Philadelphia doesn't host these visits by accident. If they see something worth developing, don't be surprised if this is one of those moves that look small now but feel much bigger later. If he is among the guys they select, this could be another one of those quiet moves that turns into something much bigger. He is indeed that talented.

3. The A.J. Brown conversation never really goes away, does it?
