Three golfers at different stages of their careers will receive sponsorship exemptions into the 13th annual FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, bringing women’s professional golf to Marshall in June, according to a community announcement.
Tournament organizers announced that Chaille Payne, Kamryn Shannon and Jocelyn Bruch will fill the exemption spots for the event, which runs June 12–14 at The Medalist Golf Club.
Payne, an 18‑year‑old amateur from Spring Lake, earned the first exemption. She is a senior at Forest Hills Northern High School and will continue her golf career this fall at the University of Findlay. Payne has competed in state and national qualifying events and has received multiple All‑State and All‑Conference honors, according to the announcement.
The second exemption went to Shannon, a standout golfer at Ferris State University. Shannon holds the lowest career scoring average in program history and has earned multiple All‑Conference selections while competing at the NCAA Division II national level. Organizers cited both her on‑course results and leadership within the golf community.
The third exemption was awarded to Bruch, a professional golfer and Purdue University alum. Bruch turned professional in 2025 and earned status on the Epson Tour – Road to the LPGA for the 2026 season after advancing through LPGA Q‑Series qualifying. Her amateur and collegiate career included multiple championship appearances and record‑setting performances, according to the announcement.
The FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship will be played for the first time in Marshall after moving from its longtime home in Battle Creek. More than 140 professional golfers are expected to compete for a share of the $200,000 purse.
The event is part of the Epson Tour – Road to the LPGA, the official developmental tour for the LPGA, and serves as a pathway for players seeking to earn LPGA Tour status.
Admission is free throughout the three‑day tournament, and organizers say spectators can expect family‑friendly activities alongside the competition.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit The Haven in Battle Creek, a nonprofit that provides shelter, meals and essential services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
