The Denver Nuggets have had a relatively quite offseason and after Jaylen Brown, whom the Nuggets were linked to often as a potential trade destination, headed to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Nuggets have been left out in the cold when it comes to a lot of free agent moves they could have made.

They still have some major unanswered questions when it comes to their offseason, especially in regard to Peyton Watson, whom they have been open about making their biggest priority in the offseason, but even if their big targets are still looming over them, the Nuggets can still make other moves to supplement their roster.

Denver has seemingly been working on a budget this offseason and with them needing to leave cap space open for free agents like Watson, the best strategy for the Nuggets to work with is targeting veteran players who will likely warrant smaller contracts, but still have a lot left to give on the court.

Khris Middleton

Khris Middleton had somewhat of a quiet and chaotic season, splitting time between the Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks after a midseason trade in the final year of what was originally a three-year contract that he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks and now Middleton has found himself to be a free agent after a season where he didn't hugely impress.

The 36-year-old swing man averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 63 games and while those aren't the same numbers that Middleton has put up at his peak, his value as a playmaker and leader on the court, the same qualities that made him such an essential glue guy for the Bucks for so long, are still present.

Matisse Thybule

Matisse Thybule is a quintessential support piece and one that the Nuggets could really benefit from. Denver has been vocal about the belief that exists in their current roster and adding a support piece like Thybule is exactly the kind of move that the Nuggets could benefit from.

Thybule shot 43.4% from the field and just under 40% from three in the 2025-26 season and proved to be a nice offensive spark in the limited opportunities that he saw with the Trail Blazers. If the Nuggets were able to bring him in on a contract that sat somewhere in the $10 million annual, he would be a subtle, but impactful, addition.

Seth Curry

Seth Curry's 2025-26 season was one unfortunately held back by injuries as he played just 10 games, but if the Nuggets can pick Curry up on a discount and hope for a heathy season out of him, then they could pick up a veteran player that still possesses a lot of talent when it comes to shooting from long range.

Having that kind of extra offensive talent coming off the bench would be a huge plus for the Nuggets and add some variety to their offense that could pay off in a big way.
