Ok, so that is two upgrades: QB coach & DL coach. Maybe if he is as you say, he moves up to DC in 2027.As a Texas fan I think Pete Kwiatkowski is a genius and that Sark must've relapsed to have fired him. Outstanding DC, his defenses have carried Sark's entire tenure. Having him involved in any capacity is a good thing.
if he was a man he wouldnt sell out his friend that got him the job. Cmon manDid any reporter ask Rallis what will be different this time now that JG is not hovering over the defense in theory

A few nuggets from Mike LaFleur's presser today that caught my attention:
- As decision day for Kyler Murray quickly approaches, LaFleur said Arizona is still having "open conversations" about their franchise quarterback, adding that there is not a timeframe on figuring out Murray's future with the team.
- LaFleur said the staff will be filled out "over the next few days."
- Nick Rallis, who LaFleur retained as DC, was the only defensive coordinator he faced all six times over the last three seasons with the Rams.
- LaFleur on Rallis: "We had very honest and open dialogue. And I liked what I heard. This guy, he's a stud and his best days are totally in front of him and I know it's just a great fit for us."
- LaFleur said if you would've asked him a year ago if Rallis would've been available now to be his DC, he'd have said no. "I would've said, 'I had never thought he would've been an option because of just kind of where he is going and where I think he's going to go,'" LaFleur said. "So, the fact that had the ability to retain him and grow and learn with him as we build this thing the right way, pretty pumped."
- LaFleur said he's picked Rallis' brain on Arizona's offensive players in addition to the defensive personnel.
- A few weeks into his first head coaching job, LaFleur said he's quickly learning to expect the unexpected.
- LaFleur has a good idea of he wants the building to run but hasn't got to the point yet of deciding a minute-by-minute schedule after getting hired earlier this month.
- LaFleur said one could look at the process of building a staff after being hired last in this year's cycle as a good thing, not just a challenge. "Sometimes when you lose one, man, it might be the best thing that ever happened because you end up finding the next one that is a better fit for us," he said.
Has Bidwill ever fired a coach midseason? The leash can't be that short...I'd have to imagine Rallis is on a very very short leash.
Mike McCoy, only bc he was historically badHas Bidwill ever fired a coach midseason? The leash can't be that short...
Oh yeah McCoy. So bad I forgot about him...Mike McCoy, only bc he was historically bad
Like MB said he would spend on the right assistants, bring in my own guys and he pulled the rug out from under me- A few weeks into his first head coaching job, LaFleur said he's quickly learning to expect the unexpected.
I get Rallis wouldn’t throw JG under the bus but Still a legitimate question that should have been asked by the media. If this was NY media dam straight it would have been askedif he was a man he wouldnt sell out his friend that got him the job. Cmon man
He can throw JG under the bus strictly by what defense he is calling come week one.I get Rallis wouldn’t throw JG under the bus but Still a legitimate question that should have been asked by the media. If this was NY media dam straight it would have been asked
I know people are big mad about pressure rates, but I’d love to see them present some data to suppprt. He can throw JG under the bus strictly by what defense he is calling come week one.
Exactly my thoughts. He's got one year to prove himself. If he doesn't shine he'll be replaced. It's most likely a lost season anyway.Another reason it doesn't make sense to retain him. Unless they really had their eyes set on someone who didn't come available and MLF wants to be flexible for a better option in 2027 if available. That's about the only thing that makes sense IMO.
Example...if he thought he had the ability to bring in Schwartz but the Browns didn't fire him, and preferred to keep Rallis for one year vs hiring a friend and then bailing on the friend for Schwartz.
Not saying that is smart or accurate, but it makes the most sense IMO.
There are a few things to parse through regarding this that I just am not going to have time to look into.I know people are big mad about pressure rates, but I’d love to see them present some data to suppprt.
Cards were right in the middle of the league in blitz rate.
My theory rn is a lot of folks just being emotional.
