Magical Masters powers? Who wouldn't want those?

Sahith Theegala, for one, did and it made him do a strange thing.

Theegala gave arguably the best answer when posed the question of recalling his first visit to Augusta National Golf Club as part of Golfweek's annual Masters Survey.

As Theegala recounted, he went there with his college team, the Pepperdine Waves, in 2016 for a practice round after he tied for 13th at the 3M Augusta Intercollegiate (now known as the Augusta Haskins Invitational) with a 3-under 213 (69-73-71).

"I think It was everyone's first time. We were adamant we get there as soon as the gates opened and told coach we were staying until we literally get kicked out of the place," he told Golfweek. "We had a stack of cups from all the sweet teas we had."

That's a fun fond memory from Theegala but there was more — and this is the part that should become part of every profile story written on Theegala going forward.

"This was probably illegal," he said, "but I remember picking a blade of grass and I ate it because I thought it would give me some magical Masters powers."

Never thought of doing that but as soon as I get to Augusta National in a few weeks, I'm going to see if it works for me.
