Our countdown to the New Orleans Saints' season opener is on Day 36, which means this 36-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees to Marques Colston is our pick for the Saints Play of the Day. It was a classic moment in a nailbiter finale to the 2014 season. With the home-team Tampa Bay Buccaneers leaping out to an early 10-0 lead, which they extended to 20-7 by halftime, these fourth-quarter heroics from Colston and Brees were a welcome finish to what had been a chaotic season (including three interceptions from Brees that afternoon). Colston caught the pass right at the 25-yard line and turned upfield, sending the trailing Buccaneers defender to the turf behind him. With three more Bucs closing in as he ran down the sideline, Colston shimmied his way across the goal line for a game-tying touchdown. Shayne Graham's extra point gave New Orleans the lead. A minute later, defensive end Junior Galette sealed the win by sacking Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown for a safety. The loss secured the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft for Tampa Bay, who used it on Jameis Winston, and Saints coach Sean Payton later accused them of throwing the game to accomplish that by pulling their starters. However much that may have been a factor, we're glad to have the highlights.
