There is now no excuse for a delay in signing Dockett at least

San Diego has just come to terms with Nate Kaeding, their 3rd round (#65 overall). This means that #'s 62, 63 and 65 are signed sealed and delivered. Dockett is #64.

If we don't hear something soon about his signing soon, expect him to be troublesome and a likely holdout.

How can a third rounder be a hold out? If this happens, along with other picks holding out, any good will generated by hiring Dennis Green will evaporate.

Up till now I have been skeptical of Skorp's pessimism. Now, I am beginning think he is on to something. I need to see some announcements from Cards "HQ" soon.

I remember that McWilliams (TE) was a 3rd round pick that tried to hold out because he "slipped" in the draft and thought he deserved 1st round money.

AFTER all the other picks signed, he had to deal with what the salary pool had left in it - which was less than the team originally offered to him.

Just goes to show the danger of 3rd round holdouts.

BTW, Dansby kicks ass on NFL2K5. Just kinda sucks he's wearing a CB number.

I checked the New England website for info on Marquise Hill's (#63 overall) contract and it looks like he signed a five year deal worth a TOTAL of $3,075,000. I can't find details of Nate Kaeding's contract (#65 overall) on San Diego's.

Unless the agent leaks it to the press, it takes about 48 hours for the NFL to clear contracts.

There is really no excuse for any holdouts IMO! Much less the third rounder.

Alex Stephanovich should be signed soon as well. C.Francis (#99 overall, OAK) and D. Williams (#101 overall, ATL) are signed.
