The East Greenwich boys tennis team knows what it takes to win a title and in Tuesday’s Division I quarterfinal, it proved it.
Playing shorthanded against a Lincoln team that picked up a big late-season addition, the Avengers relied on a familiar face and depth to get the job done. David Levy pulled out a big win at No. 3 singles and the doubles swept, with the No. 3 team of Arya Gaind and Kevin Hayes pulling out a straight-sets victory for a dramatic 4-3 win.
East Greenwich was without the services of No. 3 Aristo Liu and with Lincoln having Om Seth — a first-team All-Stater — back in the lineup at No. 2, it was apparent this wasn’t going to look like most matches between a No. 2 and No. 7 seed.
The Avengers’ doubles depth rose to the occasion. Duncan Kling and Rajeev Sen pulled out a 6-2, 6-3 win over Logan Brouillard and Logan Brown for the first point and the No. 2 team of Kevin Chen and Aaron Garrian grabbed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Andrew Alves and Andrew Picozzi to make it 2-0 in a hurry.
Lincoln’s newfound singles depth shone through. Nick Ganim earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ravi Vishnu — normally a doubles player — at No. 4 singles and Brayden Lynch pulled out a brilliant three-set win over Tate Coker-Dodman in a matchup of the two best freshmen in Rhode Island.
Levy, who won the clinching point in last year’s D-II final, stepped up at No. 3 and pulled out a 7-5, 6-2 win over Nick Emery to make it 3-2. Hayes and Gaind were in prime position to finish off the match and after Om won his three-set battle with Henry Seeley, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, bodies quickly flowed to where third doubles was playing.
Soon after, Hayes and Gaind put the finishing touches on their 6-0, 6-3 win over Brody Mendonca and Dylan Embrey to keep EG’s season going.
The Avengers move on to next week’s semifinal round and will host the winner of Thursday’s match between No. 3 La Salle and No. 6 South Kingstown.
The defending state champs got their postseason started off on the right foot as every player who stepped on the court for the Eagles dominated in a 4-0 sweep of the Skippers.
Barrington wasted little time in dispatching North Kingstown. No. 1 Luke Sapolsky and No. 2 Bryce Kupperman lost four total games in their matches and the No. 1 doubles team of Henry Birbiglia and Merritt Birbiglia dropped three. Carlo Flores and Jason Lu were also clean with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 2 and while the team match was officially over, the teams continued to play with Gabe Anderson getting a win at No. 3 singles and Wrigley Crocker and Ian Davis getting a win at No. 3 doubles.
Barrington moves on to next week’s semifinal and will host No. 5 Moses Brown.
The Quakers won three of the four singles matches and the No. 2 doubles team of Dylan Armstrong and Sai Kantheti grinded out their match to earn the clinching point in a 4-2 win over the Hawks.
Doubles earned the clinching point for Moses Brown, but singles won the match. The Quakers’ first point came at No. 4 when Axel Lundin walked off a 6-1, 6-1 winner. Hendricken quickly evened the score when Patrick Cavanagh and Shane Ciunci won their match at No. 1 doubles, but Quaker wins at No. 3 by Alex Hopkins and No. 2 by Joseph Willimann had the team on the cusp of victory.
Hendricken’s Luca Testa kept the team’s chances alive with his straight sets win at No. 1, but the hopes were dashed soon after. Armstrong and Kantheti were in a ferocious battle with Hendricken’s Jake McNeil and Inesh Rai at No. 2 doubles, coming up with some big wins in the 6-4 win in the first set before riding that momentum to a 6-3 win in the second.
The Quakers move on to next week’s semifinal and will travel to Barrington to face the top-seeded Eagles.
After struggling in the second set, Kiril Burkovskyi bounced back just in time and closed out a three-set win at No. 2 to give the Townies a 4-2 upset win over the Purple.
Singles play was huge in East Providence pulling off the upset over Classical. John Vaughn took down Nate Johnson, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 and Malachi Smith came up with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Peter Breen at No. 4. Classical grabbed wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles, but a 6-4, 6-2 win by East Providence’s No. 3 doubles team of James Lynch and Ryan Mottur took down Alexander Sucuqui and James Zheng, 6-4, 6-2, putting the Townies one win from the upset.
After the first set, it looked like Burkovskyi was going to have little issue earning a point, but Becket DeShaw turned the tables quickly in the second set. The two battled tough in the third, but Burkovskyi was able to grind out a few big points to pull out the 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 win to keep East Providence’s season going.
The Townies will hit the road and travel to take on No. 2 Narragansett.
The Militia took care of business and the only drama was if No. 1 singles or No. 1 doubles was going to be the clinching point in the 4-0 win over the Oakers.
Warwick – a co-op of Toll Gate and Pilgrim – wasted little time in ensuring there’d be no upset. John Maynard dropped three games in his win at No. 4 to earn the first point and 13 minutes later, Parker Weldy finished off his match at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3. Josh Maynard came up with the third point with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Etienne Degos and Jacob Scott were on the verge of clinching the match, but No. 1 Cornelius Zmed beat them to the punch with the finishing touches on his 6-3, 6-4 win.
Warwick moves on to next week’s semifinals and will play the winner of Wednesday’s match between No. 2 Cranston East and No. 7 Burrillville.

Pitching dominated the game but Andrew Nocera ended it, hitting a two-out solo home run for the game’s lone score as the Clippers beat the Patriots, 1-0.
Cumberland’s Marcus Gomes and Pilgrim’s Nolan Canestrari went back-and-forth exchanging zeroes for five innings. Ben Jahnz relieved Gomes in the sixth and pitching duel continued and, after Canestrari got two quick outs to start the bottom of the seventh, extra innings seemed inevitable.
Nocera changed it in a hurry. With darkness creeping over Tucker Field, Nocera swung at the first pitch he saw and hammered it over the right field fence to give the Clippers the walk-off win.
Gomes didn’t factor in the decision, but did throw five innings of one-hit ball with no walks and two strikeouts. Jahnz gave up two hits in two innings and struck out four, picking up the win.
Canestrari was brilliant in defeat, throwing 6 2/3 innings and giving up four hits, two walks while striking out 13.
Anthony Fede struck out five and allowed one run in five innings of relief, leading the Quakers past the Lions in this Division I showdown. Fede also brought home Moses Brown's first run, drawing a first-inning walk. Moses Brown's Will Haggerty was 1-for-2 with three RBI and a pair of stolen bases in the win. Brennan Robert led Lincoln with an RBI. The right fielder went 2-for-3.
The Rams scored all six of its runs in the first three innings and three of their pitchers — Jairo Martinez, Dom McNeil and David Cavalloro — combined to hold the Huskies scoreless for the team's victory over Mt. Hope. Martinez, the starter, picked up the win as he threw three shutout innings, allowing only one hit while striking out five. The big blow of the game came off the bat of Adryan Urena, who belted a two-run homer in the third inning. Also contributing to the win were Bronx Discullio, Angelo Fuscellaro, Jayce Bessette and Cam Slack, who each drove in a run.
Gavin Palombo's run-producing single in the fifth inning proved to be the difference as the Townies edged the Skippers in a low-scoring pitching duel. An error gave North Kingstown a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but East Providence went ahead by scoring two runs in the fifth. Brian Rutkowski's sacrifice fly tied it, and Palombo followed by singling down the left-field line to score another. Starter Tyler Dicecco was the beneficiary. He allowed four hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three. Ben Davis took the loss for North Kingstown. The reliever went two innings, surrendering two unearned runs on two hits, striking out three and walking none. Bodie Forsell started for NK, surrendering no hits and no runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three.
Sentinels starter Luca Simonelli threw a complete game no-hitter against the Thunderbolts, striking out eight and walking three. Shaun Dwyer went 2-for-4 at the plate, with three RBI for Smithfield, and Moe Villandry had two hits and two runs scored in the win. The 'Bolts scored when Harrison Fisher hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first. Damien Wholey took the loss, giving up five hits and four runs over 5⅓ innings.
A six-run sixth inning sealed this one for the Rebels. Michael DiGioia doubled home a run, Quinn Matos singled home another, Jordan Chaloux scored after tagging up, and Jonah Monnes blasted a 3-run homer to right. Monnes was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Jack Noonan collected a pair of hits.
On the mound, Mark Hutchins earned the win, allowing just three hits and no runs over 4⅓ innings, striking out four and walking three. Connor Wokoske collected the save. With the win, the No. 2 ranked Rebels improve to 16-4 with one game left in the regular season.
Andrew Rapose took the loss for Coventry. Caeden Joyce led the Oakers with three hits from the leadoff position.
Chris Barboza fired a one-hitter for 6⅔ innings — when he reached his pitch limit — striking out six and walking one to lead the Falcons to the victory. Nick DiLorenzo got the save by getting the final out. Angelo Silvestri provided the offense with three singles and two RBI. Jack Fontaine drove in the other run with asqueeze bunt for Cranston West. Charlie Cordsingled for the Patriots' only hit.
What had been a 2-2 game changed drastically in the final inning when the Eagles strung together a bunch of hits to score 10 runs and easily dispatch the Islanders.
It started when Dom Bruzzi singled home a run. Blake Dolan then singled home another. An error scored one run, Rocco DeFonseca doubled to score two more. Singles by David Redmond and Jack Marley each plated another. Batting around, Bruzzi drew a walk to scoring one, Chip Lambert drew another walk to bring in another and a Cole Kepner single plated the 10th run in the frame.
Nate Coutant earned the win, allowing seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five with no walks. Billy Johnson took the loss for Middletown, allowing two runs (none earned) on two hits, striking out three and walking three.
Redmond went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Barrington, while Lucas Tanous and DeFonseca each drove in two runs.
Noah Travers went 2-for-3 to lead Middletown, with two RBI in the loss.
Mason Crain bounced back after a hiccup in the first and the offense came through shortly after as the Hawks’ snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-1 win over the Bulldogs.
The day didn’t start the way Crain wanted, as he hit the first Westerly batters he faced before giving up a sacrifice fly to Jack Zerbarini that put the Bulldogs up 1-0 through one.
Despite the run, Crain had a no-hitter going through the sixth before surrendering a meaningless double to Jack Parker. Crain retired the next three hitters and finished his complete game one-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts.
Brett Knight came through for Hendricken with a game-tying double in the second inning and Cameron Daley followed with an RBI single for a 2-1 lead. Frank Tillinghast added to the lead with an RBI single in the third and Crain’s sacrifice fly put the Hawks up 4-1.
Knight had wo hits and drove in one run, Braeden Campbell had two hits and scored once and Daley finished with two RBI. Jack DePalma also had a strong game at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
The Saints benefited from Burrillville’s error in the fourth inning. Two runs came into score and broke a 3-all tie as the Broncos threw the ball away on a pickoff attempt at third. The run support was plenty for Tyler Tremblay on the mound.
Tremblay pitched 6⅔ innings with five strikeouts and five walks. Harold Fernandez recorded the last out for St. Raphael and hit a solo home run in the third inning. The win keeps the Saints in the No. 2 spot in Division II with just one game left in the regular season.
Cam Laramee picked up the loss for Burrillville, but he went 2-for-4 at the plate. AJ Escalera also went 2-for-4 and Jack Dichiaro hit a solo home run. Burrillville dropped to the five spot in the RPI standings with the loss.
After scoring a run in the first inning, the Knights opened the flood gates in the sixth, plating nine more runs to complete the shutout victory over the Titans. In the sixth, an error scored one run, Maikel Alcantara Gomez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring another, one more run scored on a balk, Andres Reyes drew a walk to bring home another, Maikel Soriano singled, scoring 2, Braulio Franco Dominquez and Jonas Diaz each singled home a run, and one more scored on a balk.
Laionel Avila earned the win for Central, allowing four hits and no runs over six innings, with three strikeouts and four walks. Brady Fales took the loss for Toll Gate, allowing three earned runs over five innings. Jonah LaFauci led the Titans, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Soriano (1-2) led Central with two RBI and two stolen bases.
Landon Sumner owned the game from start to finish and one run in the third was more than enough as the Chargers beat the Wizards, 5-0.
Sumner was flat-out dominant, sitting West Warwick batters down as fast as they could get up. The Chariho junior threw all seven innings and gave up just two hits with three walks while striking out 14.
Sumner also provided all the offense he needed in the third inning, hitting an RBI single that scored Gavin Apice. The score remained 1-0 until the seventh, when the Chargers put up four runs that weren’t necessary.
Rohan Downing led Chariho’s offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Leo Emery had two hits and scored once in the win and Gavyn Pepler drove in a pair.
Ethan Koczwanski struck out 12 batters as the right-handed pitcher led the Scarlet Knights past the Cavaliers, allowing three hits and no runs over six innings. Kole Kilduff had three hits in four at-bats in the win, with singles in the second, sixth and seventh innings. He drove in two runs and scored another.
Thayden Berek pitched one inning of shutout relief for EWG, striking out two and walking none. Brailin Dominguez took the loss for Juanita Sanchez, allowing seven hits, four runs (2 earned) and striking out 11 over six innings.
Ryan Morel went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs and Claudio Martinez and Ethan DaSilva each had a pair of hits as Pawtucket rolled to the victory. Ethan Torres earned the win after giving up just four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking three. The Northmen took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Pawtucket committed an error and Ben Black grounded into a fielder's choice. The co-op responded with three runs in the top of the third thanks to an error, a Martinez double and a DaSilva groundout. Sam Garrepy, Daniel Harrison, RJ Reall and Wyatt Pullen each had a hit for the Northmen.
The Spartans wasted no time, grabbing a four-run lead in the first inning, then making it 6-2 after two innings, en route to the victory. Starter Aiden Ouillette earned the win for Scituate. He surrendered three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking four. Quinn Liptrot tossed two innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit, striking out two and walking one. Jake McNamara and Bishop Scanlon each drove in two runs for Scituate, which took advantage of eight walks and nine stolen bases in the game. Jeckson Delvalle and Myles Robinson drove in the runs for the Patriots.

The Rams hit three home runs and Hailey Vigneau threw five innings of one-hit ball in an 11-0 win over the Sentinels.
La Salle learned from its near loss to Smithfield in the season opener and scored more runs in the first inning – four – than it did in that 3-1 win. Up 4-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth, Nikki Pallotta hit a two-run homer to left and two batters later, Elle Kershaw hit a solo shot to left. Alivia Ring added a two-run homer in the inning to make it 9-0 before Phoenyx Silva walked things off via the 10-run rule with a two-run homer, her 19th of the season.
Vigneau didn’t need the help. The junior was dominant from start to finish, throwing four no-hit innings before giving up a single in the top of the fifth. She finished the game with 10 strikeouts.
Pallotta had a great day with the bat, going 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Ring went 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run and Silva was 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Diana Hall and Kayleigh Ventura both scored twice.
Aubrey Bernard used her bat for the biggest hit of the game and her legs ended up providing the run that really mattered in a 9-7 win over the Quakers.
Errors haunted Moses Brown all afternoon and a one-out misplay in the bottom of the sixth ignited an East Providence rally and put Ella Grimley on second base. Bernard followed with a double to break the 6-6 tie and after moving to third after a hit by Cassie Dulude, Bernard scored on a passed ball to make it a two-run game before Nethania Figueroa’s groundout brought home one more. The Quakers rallied for one more run in the seventh, but East Providence didn’t allow another.
Bernard finished 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Figueroa also went 2-for-4 and scored once and drove in a run. Dulude scored twice and Caroline Welch finished her day 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Ava Lourenco had a big day in defeat, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Celia Bodurtha also had a strong game for Moses Brown, going 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Madelyn Casavant got the Clippers going in a big way, hitting a first-inning home run to start the offensive explosion in a 12-6 win over the Spartans.
Caitlin McVeigh led the inning off with a double and two batters later, Casavant went yard for the 2-0 lead. Scituate – which plays in Division II – answered with a solo homer from Victoria Geisser in the bottom half, but the Clippers scored three more in the top of the second and led 9-6 after three innings. McVeigh helped put the game away in the sixth with a two-run triple and scored on a single by Cadence Hebert.
Hebert had a huge day for Cumberland, going 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs. McVeigh wasn’t bad either, going 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. Casavant finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run and Abigail O’Connell went 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Scituategot a nice day from Gabriella DeFusco, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, and Geisser, who was 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Challenged by their Division II foes in a non-league tuneup, the Skippers took advantage of control issues to plate the tying and go-ahead runs in a 6-4 win over the Titans.
The game gave both teams a chance to keep their skills sharp before their respective postseason begin, but Toll Gate wasn’t there just for fun and led 4-3 after a two-run single by Reagan Motta in the fourth inning.
North Kingstown rallied in the fifth and loaded the bases with one out before Riley McHale drew a walk to tie the game. A passed ball put another run on the board to make it 5-4 at the end of the inning. McHale drew another bases-loaded walk in the sixth to add the final run.
Mia D’Andrea and Amelia Fries both had two hits for NK and Fries scored two runs and Andrea one. McHale had two RBI and Hannah Place scored two runs.
Flora Meunier had two hits and one RBI for Toll Gate and Motta finished her day 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Izzy Sousa dominated in the circle and helped her own cause in a 4-0 win over the Oakers.
Sousa has had plenty of great performances this season, but what happened against Coventry – a Division I powerhouse – might have been the best by a mile.
The St. Raphael sophomore left the Oakers wondering what happened all afternoon and finished the complete game giving up four hits and two walks with 17 strikeouts.
Sousa also gave herself all the runs she needed, hitting an RBI triple in the third inning before scoring on Sophie Roman’s sacrifice fly for the 2-0 advantage. Sousa finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and one RBI.
Emily Spadoni had two hits in the loss for the Oakers.
Finding themselves in a surprising tie heading to the seventh, Grace Fontaine came to the rescue with a solo home run that ended up being the game-winner in the Eagles’ 10-8 victory over the Tigers.
Barrington started the game with three runs in the top half of the first, but Tiverton eventually tied it in the fourth before taking an 8-4 lead after the fifth. Fontaine got the Eagles flying in the top half, leading off with a home run that sparked a rally that ended with an RBI single by Maya Etheridge.
The game remained tied in the seventh when Fontaine untied it, hitting a one-out solo homer to left field for the 9-8 lead. A Tigers’ error provided an insurance run and after pitching herself into trouble, Kendall Fisher got out of it with a grounder to third to end the game.
Cora Floriani and Gianna Brucato had nice contributions from the last two spots in the order, with both getting two hits and scoring twice. Etheridge had two RBI and Ace McCoy went 3-for-5 with one run.
Lexus-Alyn Boissonneau was solid in the nine hole for Tiverton, driving in two and scoring once. Caroline Durost and Kelsea Conway both scored two runs for the Tigers and Jersey-Ann Hastie drove in one and scored one run as well.
The Broncos did a little bit of hitting in their season finale, as six different players had two hits and the team scored crooked numbers in all four innings before Alivia LeBerge’s RBI single gave them a 20-8 walk-off win over the Huskies.
BNS trailed by a run after the top of the first, but quickly tied the score and then took the lead for good on a groundout by Macey Polacek as part of an eight-run first inning. The Broncos kept scoring and Mt. Hope put up seven runs in the top of the fourth to make it 14-8, but BNS got hot in the bottom half. Leberge had the final blow, an RBI single that brought the 12-run rule into play.
Olivia Audette and Adrianna Carter were big in the win, with both going 2-for-2 with four runs and two RBI. Polacek finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Samia Shakan scored three runs and Ensley Naught scored twice. Grace Trowbridge went 2-for-3 with two RBI in her final game for the Broncos.
Haley Ferreira paced the Mt. Hope offense, going 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
The Panthers had one of the best offensive games of the season and Haley Boudreau threw another gem in the 14-1 win over the Rebels.
Johnston came off the bus ready to go and Bella Boudreau provided her older sister with support with an RBI single as part of the four-run first inning. The Panthers closed the game with four and did plenty of scoring in between.
The bats were rolling and so was Haley Boudreau, who spend the day blowing away South Kingstown hitters. She threw all seven innings, gave up one hit and one earned run with six walks while striking out 18.
Alanna Colon went 5-for-5 with four runs for Johnston and Haley Boudreau had four hits. Kalyn Foster finished her day 2-for-4 with five RBI and two runs and Bella Rondeau went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Bella Boudreau scored three times and drove in one run in the win.
The Wizards had the magic going with the bats, scoring big in the first two innings and then more in each of the last four in a 13-5 win over the Chieftains.
Olivia Zajdek and Charlotte Horak reached to open up the bottom of the first and Madison Walsh’s RBI single got the scoring started. Sarah Payan hit a two-out, two-run single to make it 3-0 after one. Adrianna Carsetti hit a two-run single as part of a four-run second and while Ponaganset answered with five in the bottom half – three on an Ella McKenney home run and two on a bomb by Maia Salvo, her 12th of the season – the Wizards didn’t stop.
West Warwick put up two runs in both the fourth and fifth to build a comfortable lead before getting runs in the sixth and seventh.
Carsetti led the Wizards, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and four runs. Walsh had two hits and three RBI and Allie Iannotti had two hits and two RBI. Zajdek and Horak both scored two runs and Payan finished with four RBI.
Mia Ruggieri provided some pop in the first two innings and took care of business in the circle as the Patriots rolled to a 9-2 win over the Lions.
Lincoln scored in the top of the first, but Ruggieri tied the game in the bottom half with an RBI double and she and Kaylyn Aubuchon later scored on an error for a 3-1 lead. Portsmouth continued to hit in the second, with Emily Bronson driving in one run, Barbara Rainey hitting a sacrifice fly and Ruggieri driving in a run with a single.
The runs were plenty for Ruggieri, who pitched herself into trouble but managed to find her way out all afternoon. Ruggieri gave up nine hits and three walks, but only allowed two runs and finished with seventh strikeouts.
Lillyan Morgado was a monster atop Portsmouth’s order, going 4-for-4 with three RBI. Ruggieri finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run and Aubuchon had two hits, scored once and drove in one run.
Lucia Whyte provided the offense for Lincoln, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
It was another big day for Grace Blessing and Olivia Citrone had herself an afternoon as well as the Mariners overpowered the Warriors, 16-0.
MacKenzie Gallagher started the scoring for Narragansett with an RBI triple and two batters later, Blessing hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run. Citrone added to the lead with an RBI single and when the inning was over, the Mariners led 7-0.
Narragansett added eight more in the second and one in the third. The game ended after the bottom half via the 15-run rule.
Blessing finished 2-for-5 with five RBI and two runs and Citrone went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Alexa Poirier scored three times and drove in two runs. Gallagher, Briana Reidy, Brooke Caffrey and Delaney Bonneau scored two runs apiece.
Bonneau threw all three innings, giving up one hit, walking one and striking out five batters.
Juliet St. Pierre’s two-run single ignited a nine-run first inning that helped the Patriots cruise home with a 15-0 win over the Cavaliers.
Davies led 1-0 when St. Pierre came to the plate for the first time and the junior came up big, hitting a two-run single on a 2-1 count for the 3-0 lead. Offense followed, with Gisele Roy driving in two with a single and Bobbi Calder hitting a two-run single as well. When the inning finally ended, the Patriots had a 9-0 lead.
The scoring didn’t stop there. Davies scored six in the bottom half of the second and the game ended after the top of the third via the 15-run rule.
St. Pierre had one of her best performances of the season, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Roy and Calder both drove in two and scored twice. Madison Blanchette also went 2-for-2 and finished with four RBI.
Gabriella Fisher threw three perfect innings for Davies and had six strikeouts.
Talia Cicilline led from the top as the Vikings took advantage of miscues and picked up a 15-0 win over the Navigators.
Cicilline led off with a hit and reached second on an error to start the bottom of the first, moved around on a passed ball and scored on a successful double steal. Rogers continued to add runs on walks and errors and led 8-0 after the first. The Vikings scored six more in the second inning and walked off with a win via the 15-run rule after Maeve Higgins scored on a wild pitch with one out in the third.
Cicilline finished the game 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs. Higgins led Rogers with three runs. Nora Gardullo drove home a pair and Lila Leys, Tess Margolis and Cataline Schroder scored two runs apiece.
Leys threw three innings of one-hit ball, walking one and striking out eight.
Division III
Pawtucket 16, Exeter-West Greenwich 0
Hope 18, Mount Pleasant 3
Grayson Hawkins scored four goals and had an assist, Patrick Cranson added two goals and three assists, and Brady Venancio had a goal and two assists as the Islanders used a strong second half to defeat the Patriots. Corey Chiodo came up big in net, especially in the fourth quarter. Overall, he made 12 saves on 22 shots for Middletown, which trailed 5-4 at halftime. Portsmouth was led by Chase Pascoe with six goals, Rate Dionne had three goals and an assist and Jack Colna made 16 saves on 28 shots.
Known for its defensive play, the Lions showed off its offensive prowess and got the mercy rule going in a 20-6 win over the Broncos.
Lincoln has done a number on teams slowing the game down and during it into a trench war, but Burrillville offered little resistance as six different players popped goals.
Joseph London led the Lions with five and Eli Hughes and Daniel London both scored four. Tyler Senra had a hat trick and Jaden Bourski scored a pair. Alex Manning had the other score.
Keian Fox didn’t see a ton of action, but was affective when he did and came up with eight saves.
Aiden Champ and Miles Cormier were a 1-2 punch the Townies had absolutely no answer for in the Tigers’ 16-2 win.
Tiverton wasted little time throwing its weight around and its top two scores played a big hand in the dominance over the four quarters. Champ and Cormier both finished with five goals and Seth Aguiar got into the fun with four goals. Quinn DaSuta scored a pair to round out the scoring.
The play of Grant Bailey (4 goals, 1 assist) and Caden Gurjian (3 goals) paved the way for the Spartans to win over the Vikings. Netminder John Greenhalgh was strong as he recorded seven saves. David Rivera led Rogers in scoring with four goals and an assist.
Division II

In a one-goal game at halftime, the Avengers overpowered the Skippers in the second half and pitched a shutout in the fourth quarter to grab the 20-12 win.
EG led by three after the first quarter, but North Kingstown’s offense – led by Jordan Parris – came alive in the second and cut the deficit to one at the half.
The rest of the game belonged to the Avengers. East Greenwich outscored NK 6-2 in the fourth quarter, then used possession to control the fourth and didn’t surrender a goal to close the game.
Tessa Charello-Ingegneri led the Avengers with six goals and two assists. Ava Halvorsen and Lindsey Rowe both scored five goals in the win.
Parris led North Kingstown with six goals and Mya Macchioni added three goals.
The two teams played a close game on Monday night and the rematch 24 hours later as no different as the Eagles pulled out the 16-13 win.
On Monday Prout traveled to Barrington and pulled out a one-goal win. Tuesday, the Eagles made the trip to Wakefield to take on the Crusaders and returned the favor.
Bailey Duncan was the leader on offense for Barrington, scoring five goals. Sophia Scandura added three in the win.
Lizzie Hill had another big game for Prout, scoring nine goals in the loss. Bridget Baney had two goals for the Crusaders.
The Bulldogs were unstoppable in this interstate matchup with Gianna Falcone scoring four times (with two assists). Casey Macera, Simona Hackett and Allyson Faubert each netted three goals. Emma Gardwin led Fitch with two goals. In net, Westerly's Vittoria Illiano made 4four saves and teammate Lucy Saint had two.
Lucy Biggs' five goals helped lift the Clippers over the Rebels. Emily Pirri contributed to the victory with two goals and Emily Bourke and Bowie Legend each had a goal and an assist. Lucy Capizzo scored three goals and teammate Mia Moffit added two goals and two helpers for SK.
Charlotte Lally (three goals), Annabelle Lally (two goals, one assist) and Lexi Johnson-McMahon (two goals, one assist) each finished with a three-point games as they led the Sentinels to victory. Morgan Hilton chipped in with a goal and an assist, Avery Costa and Grace Young added single scores and Hudson Nelson made six saves for the victors. Giuliana Sirigano netted two goals and Gabby Austin stopped eight shots for the Northmen.
Dylan Flynn and Alyssa Karalekas, scored four and three goals, respectively, helping the Townies run away from the Bengals. Other goal scorers for EP were Ava Soares, Katherine Almeida and Maggie Robinson with two each and Kloey Iacavone and Sophia Carreiro with one apiece

Ryan Harrington (14 kills, 4 digs, 2 aces), Cody Tow (12 kills, 4 digs, 2 aces) and Evan Shea (34 assists) led the Skippers to a 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 sweep of the Townies. Antonio Varela (4 kills, 2 blocks) and Franklin Corela Lopez (6 kills, 1 block) had strong games for EP.
Sean Wilkey registered 8 kills, 8 digs, 7 aces and a block, Jack Looper backed that with an ace, 20 assists and 3 digs and Alex Goss had 8 kills, 5 digs, 3 aces and an assist in the Patriots' 25-12, 25-10, 25-23 victory. Nate Aragao led the Hurricanes with 5 kills, an ace and 2 digs and Zioma Farges-Sirota added 2 assists, one kill, one dig and one ace.

GAME OF THE DAY
The East Greenwich boys tennis team knows what it takes to win a title and in Tuesday’s Division I quarterfinal, it proved it.
Playing shorthanded against a Lincoln team that picked up a big late-season addition, the Avengers relied on a familiar face and depth to get the job done. David Levy pulled out a big win at No. 3 singles and the doubles swept, with the No. 3 team of Arya Gaind and Kevin Hayes pulling out a straight-sets victory for a dramatic 4-3 win.
East Greenwich was without the services of No. 3 Aristo Liu and with Lincoln having Om Seth — a first-team All-Stater — back in the lineup at No. 2, it was apparent this wasn’t going to look like most matches between a No. 2 and No. 7 seed.
The Avengers’ doubles depth rose to the occasion. Duncan Kling and Rajeev Sen pulled out a 6-2, 6-3 win over Logan Brouillard and Logan Brown for the first point and the No. 2 team of Kevin Chen and Aaron Garrian grabbed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Andrew Alves and Andrew Picozzi to make it 2-0 in a hurry.
Lincoln’s newfound singles depth shone through. Nick Ganim earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ravi Vishnu — normally a doubles player — at No. 4 singles and Brayden Lynch pulled out a brilliant three-set win over Tate Coker-Dodman in a matchup of the two best freshmen in Rhode Island.
Levy, who won the clinching point in last year’s D-II final, stepped up at No. 3 and pulled out a 7-5, 6-2 win over Nick Emery to make it 3-2. Hayes and Gaind were in prime position to finish off the match and after Om won his three-set battle with Henry Seeley, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, bodies quickly flowed to where third doubles was playing.
Soon after, Hayes and Gaind put the finishing touches on their 6-0, 6-3 win over Brody Mendonca and Dylan Embrey to keep EG’s season going.
The Avengers move on to next week’s semifinal round and will host the winner of Thursday’s match between No. 3 La Salle and No. 6 South Kingstown.
BOYS TENNIS – Division I quarterfinals
No. 1 Barrington 4, No. 8 North Kingstown 0
The defending state champs got their postseason started off on the right foot as every player who stepped on the court for the Eagles dominated in a 4-0 sweep of the Skippers.
Barrington wasted little time in dispatching North Kingstown. No. 1 Luke Sapolsky and No. 2 Bryce Kupperman lost four total games in their matches and the No. 1 doubles team of Henry Birbiglia and Merritt Birbiglia dropped three. Carlo Flores and Jason Lu were also clean with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 2 and while the team match was officially over, the teams continued to play with Gabe Anderson getting a win at No. 3 singles and Wrigley Crocker and Ian Davis getting a win at No. 3 doubles.
Barrington moves on to next week’s semifinal and will host No. 5 Moses Brown.
No. 5 Moses Brown 4, No. 4 Hendricken 2
The Quakers won three of the four singles matches and the No. 2 doubles team of Dylan Armstrong and Sai Kantheti grinded out their match to earn the clinching point in a 4-2 win over the Hawks.
Doubles earned the clinching point for Moses Brown, but singles won the match. The Quakers’ first point came at No. 4 when Axel Lundin walked off a 6-1, 6-1 winner. Hendricken quickly evened the score when Patrick Cavanagh and Shane Ciunci won their match at No. 1 doubles, but Quaker wins at No. 3 by Alex Hopkins and No. 2 by Joseph Willimann had the team on the cusp of victory.
Hendricken’s Luca Testa kept the team’s chances alive with his straight sets win at No. 1, but the hopes were dashed soon after. Armstrong and Kantheti were in a ferocious battle with Hendricken’s Jake McNeil and Inesh Rai at No. 2 doubles, coming up with some big wins in the 6-4 win in the first set before riding that momentum to a 6-3 win in the second.
The Quakers move on to next week’s semifinal and will travel to Barrington to face the top-seeded Eagles.
Boys Tennis – Division II Quarterfinals

No. 6 East Providence 4, No. 3 Classical 2
After struggling in the second set, Kiril Burkovskyi bounced back just in time and closed out a three-set win at No. 2 to give the Townies a 4-2 upset win over the Purple.
Singles play was huge in East Providence pulling off the upset over Classical. John Vaughn took down Nate Johnson, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 and Malachi Smith came up with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Peter Breen at No. 4. Classical grabbed wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles, but a 6-4, 6-2 win by East Providence’s No. 3 doubles team of James Lynch and Ryan Mottur took down Alexander Sucuqui and James Zheng, 6-4, 6-2, putting the Townies one win from the upset.
After the first set, it looked like Burkovskyi was going to have little issue earning a point, but Becket DeShaw turned the tables quickly in the second set. The two battled tough in the third, but Burkovskyi was able to grind out a few big points to pull out the 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 win to keep East Providence’s season going.
The Townies will hit the road and travel to take on No. 2 Narragansett.
Boys Tennis – Division III Quarterfinals
No. 3 Warwick 4, No. 6 Coventry 0
The Militia took care of business and the only drama was if No. 1 singles or No. 1 doubles was going to be the clinching point in the 4-0 win over the Oakers.
Warwick – a co-op of Toll Gate and Pilgrim – wasted little time in ensuring there’d be no upset. John Maynard dropped three games in his win at No. 4 to earn the first point and 13 minutes later, Parker Weldy finished off his match at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3. Josh Maynard came up with the third point with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Etienne Degos and Jacob Scott were on the verge of clinching the match, but No. 1 Cornelius Zmed beat them to the punch with the finishing touches on his 6-3, 6-4 win.
Warwick moves on to next week’s semifinals and will play the winner of Wednesday’s match between No. 2 Cranston East and No. 7 Burrillville.

BASEBALL - Division I
Cumberland 1, Pilgrim 0
Pitching dominated the game but Andrew Nocera ended it, hitting a two-out solo home run for the game’s lone score as the Clippers beat the Patriots, 1-0.
Cumberland’s Marcus Gomes and Pilgrim’s Nolan Canestrari went back-and-forth exchanging zeroes for five innings. Ben Jahnz relieved Gomes in the sixth and pitching duel continued and, after Canestrari got two quick outs to start the bottom of the seventh, extra innings seemed inevitable.
Nocera changed it in a hurry. With darkness creeping over Tucker Field, Nocera swung at the first pitch he saw and hammered it over the right field fence to give the Clippers the walk-off win.
Gomes didn’t factor in the decision, but did throw five innings of one-hit ball with no walks and two strikeouts. Jahnz gave up two hits in two innings and struck out four, picking up the win.
Canestrari was brilliant in defeat, throwing 6 2/3 innings and giving up four hits, two walks while striking out 13.
Moses Brown 5, Lincoln 1
Anthony Fede struck out five and allowed one run in five innings of relief, leading the Quakers past the Lions in this Division I showdown. Fede also brought home Moses Brown's first run, drawing a first-inning walk. Moses Brown's Will Haggerty was 1-for-2 with three RBI and a pair of stolen bases in the win. Brennan Robert led Lincoln with an RBI. The right fielder went 2-for-3.
La Salle 6, Mt. Hope 0
The Rams scored all six of its runs in the first three innings and three of their pitchers — Jairo Martinez, Dom McNeil and David Cavalloro — combined to hold the Huskies scoreless for the team's victory over Mt. Hope. Martinez, the starter, picked up the win as he threw three shutout innings, allowing only one hit while striking out five. The big blow of the game came off the bat of Adryan Urena, who belted a two-run homer in the third inning. Also contributing to the win were Bronx Discullio, Angelo Fuscellaro, Jayce Bessette and Cam Slack, who each drove in a run.
East Providence 2, North Kingstown 1
Gavin Palombo's run-producing single in the fifth inning proved to be the difference as the Townies edged the Skippers in a low-scoring pitching duel. An error gave North Kingstown a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but East Providence went ahead by scoring two runs in the fifth. Brian Rutkowski's sacrifice fly tied it, and Palombo followed by singling down the left-field line to score another. Starter Tyler Dicecco was the beneficiary. He allowed four hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three. Ben Davis took the loss for North Kingstown. The reliever went two innings, surrendering two unearned runs on two hits, striking out three and walking none. Bodie Forsell started for NK, surrendering no hits and no runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three.
Smithfield 4, Cranston East 1
Sentinels starter Luca Simonelli threw a complete game no-hitter against the Thunderbolts, striking out eight and walking three. Shaun Dwyer went 2-for-4 at the plate, with three RBI for Smithfield, and Moe Villandry had two hits and two runs scored in the win. The 'Bolts scored when Harrison Fisher hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first. Damien Wholey took the loss, giving up five hits and four runs over 5⅓ innings.
South Kingstown 7, Coventry 0
A six-run sixth inning sealed this one for the Rebels. Michael DiGioia doubled home a run, Quinn Matos singled home another, Jordan Chaloux scored after tagging up, and Jonah Monnes blasted a 3-run homer to right. Monnes was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Jack Noonan collected a pair of hits.
On the mound, Mark Hutchins earned the win, allowing just three hits and no runs over 4⅓ innings, striking out four and walking three. Connor Wokoske collected the save. With the win, the No. 2 ranked Rebels improve to 16-4 with one game left in the regular season.
Andrew Rapose took the loss for Coventry. Caeden Joyce led the Oakers with three hits from the leadoff position.
Cranston West 3, Portsmouth 0
Chris Barboza fired a one-hitter for 6⅔ innings — when he reached his pitch limit — striking out six and walking one to lead the Falcons to the victory. Nick DiLorenzo got the save by getting the final out. Angelo Silvestri provided the offense with three singles and two RBI. Jack Fontaine drove in the other run with asqueeze bunt for Cranston West. Charlie Cordsingled for the Patriots' only hit.
Barrington 10, Middletown 2
What had been a 2-2 game changed drastically in the final inning when the Eagles strung together a bunch of hits to score 10 runs and easily dispatch the Islanders.
It started when Dom Bruzzi singled home a run. Blake Dolan then singled home another. An error scored one run, Rocco DeFonseca doubled to score two more. Singles by David Redmond and Jack Marley each plated another. Batting around, Bruzzi drew a walk to scoring one, Chip Lambert drew another walk to bring in another and a Cole Kepner single plated the 10th run in the frame.
Nate Coutant earned the win, allowing seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five with no walks. Billy Johnson took the loss for Middletown, allowing two runs (none earned) on two hits, striking out three and walking three.
Redmond went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Barrington, while Lucas Tanous and DeFonseca each drove in two runs.
Noah Travers went 2-for-3 to lead Middletown, with two RBI in the loss.
Hendricken 7, Westerly 1
Mason Crain bounced back after a hiccup in the first and the offense came through shortly after as the Hawks’ snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-1 win over the Bulldogs.
The day didn’t start the way Crain wanted, as he hit the first Westerly batters he faced before giving up a sacrifice fly to Jack Zerbarini that put the Bulldogs up 1-0 through one.
Despite the run, Crain had a no-hitter going through the sixth before surrendering a meaningless double to Jack Parker. Crain retired the next three hitters and finished his complete game one-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts.
Brett Knight came through for Hendricken with a game-tying double in the second inning and Cameron Daley followed with an RBI single for a 2-1 lead. Frank Tillinghast added to the lead with an RBI single in the third and Crain’s sacrifice fly put the Hawks up 4-1.
Knight had wo hits and drove in one run, Braeden Campbell had two hits and scored once and Daley finished with two RBI. Jack DePalma also had a strong game at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
BASEBALL - Division II
St. Raphael 5, Burrillville 3
The Saints benefited from Burrillville’s error in the fourth inning. Two runs came into score and broke a 3-all tie as the Broncos threw the ball away on a pickoff attempt at third. The run support was plenty for Tyler Tremblay on the mound.
Tremblay pitched 6⅔ innings with five strikeouts and five walks. Harold Fernandez recorded the last out for St. Raphael and hit a solo home run in the third inning. The win keeps the Saints in the No. 2 spot in Division II with just one game left in the regular season.
Cam Laramee picked up the loss for Burrillville, but he went 2-for-4 at the plate. AJ Escalera also went 2-for-4 and Jack Dichiaro hit a solo home run. Burrillville dropped to the five spot in the RPI standings with the loss.
Central 10, Toll Gate 0
After scoring a run in the first inning, the Knights opened the flood gates in the sixth, plating nine more runs to complete the shutout victory over the Titans. In the sixth, an error scored one run, Maikel Alcantara Gomez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring another, one more run scored on a balk, Andres Reyes drew a walk to bring home another, Maikel Soriano singled, scoring 2, Braulio Franco Dominquez and Jonas Diaz each singled home a run, and one more scored on a balk.
Laionel Avila earned the win for Central, allowing four hits and no runs over six innings, with three strikeouts and four walks. Brady Fales took the loss for Toll Gate, allowing three earned runs over five innings. Jonah LaFauci led the Titans, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Soriano (1-2) led Central with two RBI and two stolen bases.
Chariho 5, West Warwick 0
Landon Sumner owned the game from start to finish and one run in the third was more than enough as the Chargers beat the Wizards, 5-0.
Sumner was flat-out dominant, sitting West Warwick batters down as fast as they could get up. The Chariho junior threw all seven innings and gave up just two hits with three walks while striking out 14.
Sumner also provided all the offense he needed in the third inning, hitting an RBI single that scored Gavin Apice. The score remained 1-0 until the seventh, when the Chargers put up four runs that weren’t necessary.
Rohan Downing led Chariho’s offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Leo Emery had two hits and scored once in the win and Gavyn Pepler drove in a pair.
BASEBALL - Division III

Exeter-West Greenwich 6, Juanita Sanchez 0
Ethan Koczwanski struck out 12 batters as the right-handed pitcher led the Scarlet Knights past the Cavaliers, allowing three hits and no runs over six innings. Kole Kilduff had three hits in four at-bats in the win, with singles in the second, sixth and seventh innings. He drove in two runs and scored another.
Thayden Berek pitched one inning of shutout relief for EWG, striking out two and walking none. Brailin Dominguez took the loss for Juanita Sanchez, allowing seven hits, four runs (2 earned) and striking out 11 over six innings.
Pawtucket 10, North Smithfield 2
Ryan Morel went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs and Claudio Martinez and Ethan DaSilva each had a pair of hits as Pawtucket rolled to the victory. Ethan Torres earned the win after giving up just four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking three. The Northmen took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Pawtucket committed an error and Ben Black grounded into a fielder's choice. The co-op responded with three runs in the top of the third thanks to an error, a Martinez double and a DaSilva groundout. Sam Garrepy, Daniel Harrison, RJ Reall and Wyatt Pullen each had a hit for the Northmen.
Scituate 10, Davies 2
The Spartans wasted no time, grabbing a four-run lead in the first inning, then making it 6-2 after two innings, en route to the victory. Starter Aiden Ouillette earned the win for Scituate. He surrendered three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking four. Quinn Liptrot tossed two innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit, striking out two and walking one. Jake McNamara and Bishop Scanlon each drove in two runs for Scituate, which took advantage of eight walks and nine stolen bases in the game. Jeckson Delvalle and Myles Robinson drove in the runs for the Patriots.

La Salle 11, Smithfield 0
The Rams hit three home runs and Hailey Vigneau threw five innings of one-hit ball in an 11-0 win over the Sentinels.
La Salle learned from its near loss to Smithfield in the season opener and scored more runs in the first inning – four – than it did in that 3-1 win. Up 4-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth, Nikki Pallotta hit a two-run homer to left and two batters later, Elle Kershaw hit a solo shot to left. Alivia Ring added a two-run homer in the inning to make it 9-0 before Phoenyx Silva walked things off via the 10-run rule with a two-run homer, her 19th of the season.
Vigneau didn’t need the help. The junior was dominant from start to finish, throwing four no-hit innings before giving up a single in the top of the fifth. She finished the game with 10 strikeouts.
Pallotta had a great day with the bat, going 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Ring went 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run and Silva was 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Diana Hall and Kayleigh Ventura both scored twice.
East Providence 9, Moses Brown 7
Aubrey Bernard used her bat for the biggest hit of the game and her legs ended up providing the run that really mattered in a 9-7 win over the Quakers.
Errors haunted Moses Brown all afternoon and a one-out misplay in the bottom of the sixth ignited an East Providence rally and put Ella Grimley on second base. Bernard followed with a double to break the 6-6 tie and after moving to third after a hit by Cassie Dulude, Bernard scored on a passed ball to make it a two-run game before Nethania Figueroa’s groundout brought home one more. The Quakers rallied for one more run in the seventh, but East Providence didn’t allow another.
Bernard finished 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Figueroa also went 2-for-4 and scored once and drove in a run. Dulude scored twice and Caroline Welch finished her day 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Ava Lourenco had a big day in defeat, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Celia Bodurtha also had a strong game for Moses Brown, going 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Cumberland 12, Scituate 6
Madelyn Casavant got the Clippers going in a big way, hitting a first-inning home run to start the offensive explosion in a 12-6 win over the Spartans.
Caitlin McVeigh led the inning off with a double and two batters later, Casavant went yard for the 2-0 lead. Scituate – which plays in Division II – answered with a solo homer from Victoria Geisser in the bottom half, but the Clippers scored three more in the top of the second and led 9-6 after three innings. McVeigh helped put the game away in the sixth with a two-run triple and scored on a single by Cadence Hebert.
Hebert had a huge day for Cumberland, going 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs. McVeigh wasn’t bad either, going 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. Casavant finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run and Abigail O’Connell went 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Scituategot a nice day from Gabriella DeFusco, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, and Geisser, who was 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
North Kingstown 6, Toll Gate 4
Challenged by their Division II foes in a non-league tuneup, the Skippers took advantage of control issues to plate the tying and go-ahead runs in a 6-4 win over the Titans.
The game gave both teams a chance to keep their skills sharp before their respective postseason begin, but Toll Gate wasn’t there just for fun and led 4-3 after a two-run single by Reagan Motta in the fourth inning.
North Kingstown rallied in the fifth and loaded the bases with one out before Riley McHale drew a walk to tie the game. A passed ball put another run on the board to make it 5-4 at the end of the inning. McHale drew another bases-loaded walk in the sixth to add the final run.
Mia D’Andrea and Amelia Fries both had two hits for NK and Fries scored two runs and Andrea one. McHale had two RBI and Hannah Place scored two runs.
Flora Meunier had two hits and one RBI for Toll Gate and Motta finished her day 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
SOFTBALL - Division II
St. Raphael 4, Coventry 0
Izzy Sousa dominated in the circle and helped her own cause in a 4-0 win over the Oakers.
Sousa has had plenty of great performances this season, but what happened against Coventry – a Division I powerhouse – might have been the best by a mile.
The St. Raphael sophomore left the Oakers wondering what happened all afternoon and finished the complete game giving up four hits and two walks with 17 strikeouts.
Sousa also gave herself all the runs she needed, hitting an RBI triple in the third inning before scoring on Sophie Roman’s sacrifice fly for the 2-0 advantage. Sousa finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and one RBI.
Emily Spadoni had two hits in the loss for the Oakers.
Barrington 10, Tiverton 8
Finding themselves in a surprising tie heading to the seventh, Grace Fontaine came to the rescue with a solo home run that ended up being the game-winner in the Eagles’ 10-8 victory over the Tigers.
Barrington started the game with three runs in the top half of the first, but Tiverton eventually tied it in the fourth before taking an 8-4 lead after the fifth. Fontaine got the Eagles flying in the top half, leading off with a home run that sparked a rally that ended with an RBI single by Maya Etheridge.
The game remained tied in the seventh when Fontaine untied it, hitting a one-out solo homer to left field for the 9-8 lead. A Tigers’ error provided an insurance run and after pitching herself into trouble, Kendall Fisher got out of it with a grounder to third to end the game.
Cora Floriani and Gianna Brucato had nice contributions from the last two spots in the order, with both getting two hits and scoring twice. Etheridge had two RBI and Ace McCoy went 3-for-5 with one run.
Lexus-Alyn Boissonneau was solid in the nine hole for Tiverton, driving in two and scoring once. Caroline Durost and Kelsea Conway both scored two runs for the Tigers and Jersey-Ann Hastie drove in one and scored one run as well.
BNS 20, Mt. Hope 8
The Broncos did a little bit of hitting in their season finale, as six different players had two hits and the team scored crooked numbers in all four innings before Alivia LeBerge’s RBI single gave them a 20-8 walk-off win over the Huskies.
BNS trailed by a run after the top of the first, but quickly tied the score and then took the lead for good on a groundout by Macey Polacek as part of an eight-run first inning. The Broncos kept scoring and Mt. Hope put up seven runs in the top of the fourth to make it 14-8, but BNS got hot in the bottom half. Leberge had the final blow, an RBI single that brought the 12-run rule into play.
Olivia Audette and Adrianna Carter were big in the win, with both going 2-for-2 with four runs and two RBI. Polacek finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Samia Shakan scored three runs and Ensley Naught scored twice. Grace Trowbridge went 2-for-3 with two RBI in her final game for the Broncos.
Haley Ferreira paced the Mt. Hope offense, going 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Johnston 14, South Kingstown 1
The Panthers had one of the best offensive games of the season and Haley Boudreau threw another gem in the 14-1 win over the Rebels.
Johnston came off the bus ready to go and Bella Boudreau provided her older sister with support with an RBI single as part of the four-run first inning. The Panthers closed the game with four and did plenty of scoring in between.
The bats were rolling and so was Haley Boudreau, who spend the day blowing away South Kingstown hitters. She threw all seven innings, gave up one hit and one earned run with six walks while striking out 18.
Alanna Colon went 5-for-5 with four runs for Johnston and Haley Boudreau had four hits. Kalyn Foster finished her day 2-for-4 with five RBI and two runs and Bella Rondeau went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Bella Boudreau scored three times and drove in one run in the win.
West Warwick 13, Ponaganset 5
The Wizards had the magic going with the bats, scoring big in the first two innings and then more in each of the last four in a 13-5 win over the Chieftains.
Olivia Zajdek and Charlotte Horak reached to open up the bottom of the first and Madison Walsh’s RBI single got the scoring started. Sarah Payan hit a two-out, two-run single to make it 3-0 after one. Adrianna Carsetti hit a two-run single as part of a four-run second and while Ponaganset answered with five in the bottom half – three on an Ella McKenney home run and two on a bomb by Maia Salvo, her 12th of the season – the Wizards didn’t stop.
West Warwick put up two runs in both the fourth and fifth to build a comfortable lead before getting runs in the sixth and seventh.
Carsetti led the Wizards, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and four runs. Walsh had two hits and three RBI and Allie Iannotti had two hits and two RBI. Zajdek and Horak both scored two runs and Payan finished with four RBI.
Portsmouth 9, Lincoln 2
Mia Ruggieri provided some pop in the first two innings and took care of business in the circle as the Patriots rolled to a 9-2 win over the Lions.
Lincoln scored in the top of the first, but Ruggieri tied the game in the bottom half with an RBI double and she and Kaylyn Aubuchon later scored on an error for a 3-1 lead. Portsmouth continued to hit in the second, with Emily Bronson driving in one run, Barbara Rainey hitting a sacrifice fly and Ruggieri driving in a run with a single.
The runs were plenty for Ruggieri, who pitched herself into trouble but managed to find her way out all afternoon. Ruggieri gave up nine hits and three walks, but only allowed two runs and finished with seventh strikeouts.
Lillyan Morgado was a monster atop Portsmouth’s order, going 4-for-4 with three RBI. Ruggieri finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run and Aubuchon had two hits, scored once and drove in one run.
Lucia Whyte provided the offense for Lincoln, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
SOFTBALL - Division III
Narragansett 16, Central Falls 0
It was another big day for Grace Blessing and Olivia Citrone had herself an afternoon as well as the Mariners overpowered the Warriors, 16-0.
MacKenzie Gallagher started the scoring for Narragansett with an RBI triple and two batters later, Blessing hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run. Citrone added to the lead with an RBI single and when the inning was over, the Mariners led 7-0.
Narragansett added eight more in the second and one in the third. The game ended after the bottom half via the 15-run rule.
Blessing finished 2-for-5 with five RBI and two runs and Citrone went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Alexa Poirier scored three times and drove in two runs. Gallagher, Briana Reidy, Brooke Caffrey and Delaney Bonneau scored two runs apiece.
Bonneau threw all three innings, giving up one hit, walking one and striking out five batters.
Davies 15, Juanita Sanchez 0
Juliet St. Pierre’s two-run single ignited a nine-run first inning that helped the Patriots cruise home with a 15-0 win over the Cavaliers.
Davies led 1-0 when St. Pierre came to the plate for the first time and the junior came up big, hitting a two-run single on a 2-1 count for the 3-0 lead. Offense followed, with Gisele Roy driving in two with a single and Bobbi Calder hitting a two-run single as well. When the inning finally ended, the Patriots had a 9-0 lead.
The scoring didn’t stop there. Davies scored six in the bottom half of the second and the game ended after the top of the third via the 15-run rule.
St. Pierre had one of her best performances of the season, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Roy and Calder both drove in two and scored twice. Madison Blanchette also went 2-for-2 and finished with four RBI.
Gabriella Fisher threw three perfect innings for Davies and had six strikeouts.
Rogers 15, Paul Cuffee 0
Talia Cicilline led from the top as the Vikings took advantage of miscues and picked up a 15-0 win over the Navigators.
Cicilline led off with a hit and reached second on an error to start the bottom of the first, moved around on a passed ball and scored on a successful double steal. Rogers continued to add runs on walks and errors and led 8-0 after the first. The Vikings scored six more in the second inning and walked off with a win via the 15-run rule after Maeve Higgins scored on a wild pitch with one out in the third.
Cicilline finished the game 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs. Higgins led Rogers with three runs. Nora Gardullo drove home a pair and Lila Leys, Tess Margolis and Cataline Schroder scored two runs apiece.
Leys threw three innings of one-hit ball, walking one and striking out eight.

BOYS LACROSSE - Division II
Middletown 12, Portsmouth 10
Grayson Hawkins scored four goals and had an assist, Patrick Cranson added two goals and three assists, and Brady Venancio had a goal and two assists as the Islanders used a strong second half to defeat the Patriots. Corey Chiodo came up big in net, especially in the fourth quarter. Overall, he made 12 saves on 22 shots for Middletown, which trailed 5-4 at halftime. Portsmouth was led by Chase Pascoe with six goals, Rate Dionne had three goals and an assist and Jack Colna made 16 saves on 28 shots.
BOYS LACROSSE - Division III
Lincoln 20, Burrillville 6
Known for its defensive play, the Lions showed off its offensive prowess and got the mercy rule going in a 20-6 win over the Broncos.
Lincoln has done a number on teams slowing the game down and during it into a trench war, but Burrillville offered little resistance as six different players popped goals.
Joseph London led the Lions with five and Eli Hughes and Daniel London both scored four. Tyler Senra had a hat trick and Jaden Bourski scored a pair. Alex Manning had the other score.
Keian Fox didn’t see a ton of action, but was affective when he did and came up with eight saves.
BOYS LACROSSE - Division IV

Tiverton 16, East Providence 2
Aiden Champ and Miles Cormier were a 1-2 punch the Townies had absolutely no answer for in the Tigers’ 16-2 win.
Tiverton wasted little time throwing its weight around and its top two scores played a big hand in the dominance over the four quarters. Champ and Cormier both finished with five goals and Seth Aguiar got into the fun with four goals. Quinn DaSuta scored a pair to round out the scoring.
Scituate 8, Rogers 7
The play of Grant Bailey (4 goals, 1 assist) and Caden Gurjian (3 goals) paved the way for the Spartans to win over the Vikings. Netminder John Greenhalgh was strong as he recorded seven saves. David Rivera led Rogers in scoring with four goals and an assist.

GIRLS LACROSSE - Division I
East Greenwich 20, North Kingstown 12
In a one-goal game at halftime, the Avengers overpowered the Skippers in the second half and pitched a shutout in the fourth quarter to grab the 20-12 win.
EG led by three after the first quarter, but North Kingstown’s offense – led by Jordan Parris – came alive in the second and cut the deficit to one at the half.
The rest of the game belonged to the Avengers. East Greenwich outscored NK 6-2 in the fourth quarter, then used possession to control the fourth and didn’t surrender a goal to close the game.
Tessa Charello-Ingegneri led the Avengers with six goals and two assists. Ava Halvorsen and Lindsey Rowe both scored five goals in the win.
Parris led North Kingstown with six goals and Mya Macchioni added three goals.
Barrington 16, Prout 13
The two teams played a close game on Monday night and the rematch 24 hours later as no different as the Eagles pulled out the 16-13 win.
On Monday Prout traveled to Barrington and pulled out a one-goal win. Tuesday, the Eagles made the trip to Wakefield to take on the Crusaders and returned the favor.
Bailey Duncan was the leader on offense for Barrington, scoring five goals. Sophia Scandura added three in the win.
Lizzie Hill had another big game for Prout, scoring nine goals in the loss. Bridget Baney had two goals for the Crusaders.
GIRLS LACROSSE - Division II
Westerly 23, Fitch (CT) 3
The Bulldogs were unstoppable in this interstate matchup with Gianna Falcone scoring four times (with two assists). Casey Macera, Simona Hackett and Allyson Faubert each netted three goals. Emma Gardwin led Fitch with two goals. In net, Westerly's Vittoria Illiano made 4four saves and teammate Lucy Saint had two.
Cumberland 10, South Kingstown 7
Lucy Biggs' five goals helped lift the Clippers over the Rebels. Emily Pirri contributed to the victory with two goals and Emily Bourke and Bowie Legend each had a goal and an assist. Lucy Capizzo scored three goals and teammate Mia Moffit added two goals and two helpers for SK.
GIRLS LACROSSE - Division III
Smithfield 10, North Smithfield 2
Charlotte Lally (three goals), Annabelle Lally (two goals, one assist) and Lexi Johnson-McMahon (two goals, one assist) each finished with a three-point games as they led the Sentinels to victory. Morgan Hilton chipped in with a goal and an assist, Avery Costa and Grace Young added single scores and Hudson Nelson made six saves for the victors. Giuliana Sirigano netted two goals and Gabby Austin stopped eight shots for the Northmen.
East Providence 15, Bay View 7
Dylan Flynn and Alyssa Karalekas, scored four and three goals, respectively, helping the Townies run away from the Bengals. Other goal scorers for EP were Ava Soares, Katherine Almeida and Maggie Robinson with two each and Kloey Iacavone and Sophia Carreiro with one apiece
