Disagree. And I'm very much a trade realist.

If you mean, value compared to what he cost us then sure. If you mean he's worth nothing at all then I disagree.

Benson is a 3rd round pick with 451 yards on 92 attempts. That's 4.9 YPA. He's 23 years old.

A team will give something for that, it might only be a 6th but there's certainly a market for it, especially is someone's 1st or 2nd RB goes down in camp.

I don't think we're getting a 6th for him and I wouldn't call that value anyway.

If we get a 6th, we're sending a 7th. If he has any trade value, it is the most minuscule imaginable. I don't think Benson has any value at all. He is a straight line runner that doesn't block, isn't a receiving threat and has been constantly hurt.

Nah man. He's not.

I don't think the team have any issue with Trey's play, if they have any concerns it's his knee. He's certainly not a straight line runner.

RB's are very scheme dependent and I think you can argue that we haven't put Benson in the best situation, but then you can't argue with his stats if that's the case. There will be teams that really liked Benson 2 years ago that haven't seen anything to say they were wrong. The biggest issue is health and if he has a chronic knee issue.

IMO they will keep all 4 through camp and see who fits best in the scheme then trade who they think they can do without. That may be Allgeier depending how pissed he is, but more likely will be one of Conner or Benson. Depending on Bensons health.

You would think Conner because of how similar to Allgeier he is, but the team love Conner's leadership.

If we can find someone to take JC that would be the best situation if the FO makes a moves

He was running in mud last year and hard to see him getting faster

TA is younger and can do the things he does

I’d be very surprised unless he gets a conditional 7th. This only happens if they think there’s competition for him.

Honestly, they may move Allgeier.

He signed here expecting to be lead back. I don't expect he's too happy at the moment. They can move him post June 1st for a margin dead cap hit.

It would be unusual, and I'm sure that Cards want him to stay, but he may push for an exit. Especially if a team calls and says "About Tyler Allgeier..."

(This is why the draft should be before FA).
I think a lot depends on scheme. If they truly want to split out Love and restrict him to 20 carries or less, then maybe Allgeier will be happy.

I imagine both Allgeier and Conner are upset. Allgeier because he probably signed thinking he would compete for the starting gig. Conner because he just redid his contact. I don't know how much the team should care, but I am sure they are.
Conner knows he’s a risk. He’s been around.

I said when he was drafted that Benson didn’t look special at all in his college highlights. He’s a JAG but a cheap one at least.
He averaged 6.46 yds per carry his final college season. That’s not a JAG number. Almost every analyst had him as the first or second RB.

His film wasn’t anything special and plenty of college RB’s have averaged over 6 YPC and never did anything in the pros. He may have been the best RB that draft and still went round 3.

As much as I like Conner, he is the one to cut or trade, if you are going to do it. We just drafted a younger replacement.
