Caitlin Clark’s absence from the WNBA Orange Carpet event was misreported.

The WNBA Orange Carpet event is organized before All-Star weekend, where players show off their designer outfits and pose for photos.

One notable absence from the 2026 WNBA Orange Carpet was none other than Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark.

Speaking of which, USA Today reported that Clark missed the event because she was getting her hair done in her hometown of Des Moines.

USA Today’s Caitlin Clark report was quickly proven wrong​

The publication is already under fire for Nancy Armour’s terrible opinion article about comparing Clark berating referees to the murder of Emmett Till.

Now, the same publication has misreported Clark’s absence from the WNBA Orange Carpet. They claimed it was due to getting her hair done in her hometown. But in reality? Clark was attending a charity event.

“She went back to Des Moines because the Caitlin Clark Foundation was hosting an event. Hard to even put into words how irresponsible this is,” reporter David Eickholt said on X.

This is indeed irresponsible from one of the biggest publications in the US. After all, it creates unnecessary hate against one of the biggest WNBA stars of this generation.
