The refs always do this and watch it happen. The NFL made a mistake, so they will blatantly call a few plays against the Cardinals next week to make the Lions feel better. They always do this crap and the Cardinals are a team of choice because they feel nobody cares about our team... we are going to have to win by three scores or the refs will make it hard to win for the boys in red

But we got hosed too...Maybe the refs will cancel the game because they won't know who to screw more.

Well we'll be watching. With all the money the NFL makes you'd think something so elemental like officiating would be better. . .

They are too busy trying to wipe the egg off of their face caused by some underinflated balls, trying to show how inflated THEIR balls are.

The technology is there and they can review these plays in seconds. And should.

Yeah, Deflategate and all the other crap makes me wonder sometimes why we remain fans. The NFL is our version of FIFA!

The worst is when they make a bad call (like the fumble/forward progress thing) and have the stupid "can't review that type of call" ruling.

Disagree, if anything it would be retribution to us for how bad this game was called. It stinks of that NY Giants game a few years back when a Giants WR fumbled as he was going down, but was ruled to have given himself up on the play, negating the turnover. We should have had a 1st and goal at the 9 on Sunday and the refs took away a golden opportunity. When you're hit so hard you immediately fumble, I can't understand how it could be called not a fumble due to forward progress. Insane. Obviously we lost b/c we didn't play well enough to win, but that opportunity would've been an undeniably huge momentum shift.

It's hard to say how this will affect the Lions players , they might come out more determined Sunday , or finding a way to snatch defeat right out of the jaws of victory , leaving them 0 and 4 could take the wind right out of their sails . Sunday should be interesting .

The lions got banged up on Monday. A lot of injuries and a lot of travel and now on a short week. They have a tough road to win this week.

Cardinals are in the driver seat IMO

The call was huge, it has sunk the Lion's season and completely changed the complexion of the NFC West...couple that with the bad call vs Rams and the NFC West has been turned upside down.

NFC West should be:

AZ 4-0
STL 1-3
SEA 1-3
SF 1-3

Instead it's:

AZ: 3-1
STL: 2-2
SEA: 2-2
SF: 1-3

That's a two game swing based on two bad calls...the NFL needs to stop minimizing the impact of terrible calls. This affects entire season, playoff seeding, coaches jobs, etc.

History is very clear that the NFL doesn't care about the Lions, I am not worried about this sort of thing.

I'm with you on this. Coulda Shoulda..... But, Cards should have not let that game be that close in the 1st place to allow refs to dictate the outcome AND if only Calvin Johnson holds onto that ball, then this would have been such a disappointing weekend. Ending up feeling like the Cards took 2 losses.

Positive part is, the Cards have pretty much everyone healthy and going into the game in Detroit with a chip on their shoulder for losing that game. Detroit on the other hand, knew they got hosed on a bad call and are now 0-4. Pretty sure the energy isn't the same for them, plus coming off a short week with a handful of injuries. Advantage Cards. Just need to come out and put it to the Lions early.

if this team is as good as a lot of this board thinks it is, it should destroy an 0-4 team who's coming off a demoralizing win and the refs should have nothing to say about it.

If playing like dung and giving a game away isn't enough to have them ready were in for a long season. Win or lose I bet we play well this week. That should mean a win.

Wrong, not when it is a national televised game and it reflects on the league. Let me give you a recent example, last year in the playoffs. The Lions got hosed and they then took away the Dez Bryant catch the following game on a bad call to appease people. This Lions game was on Monday night... the Cardinals are the perfect team to make the Lions feel better, we need to win by a lot :)

I really want to see this team come out and just dominate Sunday. I still can't get the awful taste out of my mouth from last week.

Dude you are telling me. The amount of sorrows I drowned at Hiliter after the game was monumental. I've never felt that befuddled after a game before.

with raised expectations come bigger disappointments, which sucks... but is a MUCH BETTER place to be overall as Cards fans then we've ever been.

On the plus side as annoyed as I was throughout the game I never for a second thought the Cards wouldn't pull out the win.
