The draft is a big gamble and if so even if the Cardinals nab Suggs, I would not be upset with them drafting Peek or Redding in RD 2 as well. Unless one says that Suggs will be all he is cut out to be (and I say he very well might be and solid probably at the very least ) it is still a gamble and no sure thing. This is one of the logical factors that has people wanting Leftwich over McCown even if the kid did not have a fair shot yet. I say increase the chances of the Cardinals fixing the rush problem with two pass rushing picks, maybe round 2 should be a CB or WR, but RD 3 will still have more chances of success than hedging your bets on a diamond in the rough in round 5 or 6. We have a pass rush problem, lets see if we can fix the problem.

If Suggs is a bust then at least there is hope for Peek or Redding to go along with Johnson and Bryant. If you try and fix too many positions, chance are you might not improve any of the needs. This is probably one of the reasons I should not be in control of our draft picks but that 5 second time we give QBs to throw crap where a so-so QB can light us up has to stop.

I'll stay away from Redding. But I'll take Peek if he's there. Peek reminds me of Colvin plus we can use Peek like Colvin ala Rush LB/DE.

I concur. We must come out of the draft with two speed rushers. In my Cardinals' mock they are Peek and Wilkerson...but if they are Suggs and Peek I will be excited as well...although I'm still enamored with Byron Leftwich above all others in this draft.

We already drafted one of the 2 DE's - Dennis Johnson last year. His odds of succeeding at rush-end are as good or better than anyone we'd draft after the second round.

I would include the second round, too. Johnson is better than any DE available at #37. It's Suggs at #6 or a tweener like Peeks/Banta-Cain in the 4th. Alonzo Jackson in the 3rd could work too.
