A unique aspect of NBA Summer League? You can't foul out! Several players took advantage of that leeway in Thursday's opening games in Las Vegas. Three racked up nine fouls, including No. 2 overall pick, new Utah Jazz guard and former Kansas standout .
The American Century Championship began Friday along the shores of Lake Tahoe. The always fun three-day event features 80 celebrity golfers. Charles Barkley is the longest of long shots to win it all with Stephen Curry, Tony Romo, Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce and Aaron Rodgers all in the field, as well.
How many points finished with in his Summer League debut on Thursday night for the Los Angeles Clippers, a 91-85 loss to the Sacramento Kings at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, which led to a number of people sharing their doubts about Wagler, the No. 5 overall pick in June's NBA draft, on social media. Wagler reached that point total on 1 of 7 shooting to go with two rebounds. Not great, but not the end of the world the way some Clippers "fans" are treating a single meaningless game in early July.
Illinois didn't claim in the graphic it published ahead of Summer League, but, rest assured, the Heat rookie did spend a season in Champaign (and Southern California, Louisville and Kansas).
Thursday marked a modest Summer League debut for . The former Illini had two rebounds and two assists but couldn't get his shots to fall.
Denver has a unique Summer League roster, with just two players younger than 23. The Nuggets are clearly looking for ready contributors. Perhaps former Illinois forward Coleman Hawkins?
