We’ve reached that stage in the season where there’s nothing much to play for on the pitch but we’re not yet close enough to the end of the season to really start talking seriously about the transfer window. As a result, there’s not a lot of serious news out there, besides a lot of vague and not particularly interesting contract stuff. It’s tough times out here for someone trying to write a quick roundup of the latest Borussia Dortmund news…
Elsewhere, the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals took place this week. Here’s how things stand:
- Real Madrid 1-2 Bayern Munich
- Sporting CP 0-1 Arsenal
- Barcelona 0-2 Atletico Madrid
- PSG 2-0 Liverpool
Obviously anything can happen in the knockout stages, but it is starting to look like an Arsenal vs Bayern Munich final might be on the cards!
BVB News
- Karim Adeyemi’s value has dropped significantly this season, due to issues on and off the pitch, with Dortmund potentially only able to get €30-40m for the German forward.
- Lars Ricken says Nico Schlotterbeck has three options: a contract extension, a transfer, or entering the final year of his contract. Enlightening.
- Elversberg’s interim Sporting Director, David Blacha, is likely to join his former colleague Nils-Ole Book at Dortmund. Blacha worked closely with Book as the Head of First-Team Football.
Bundesliga News
- Chelsea are joining the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid in the race to sign VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller.
- FC Köln have not received any “serious” offers for Said El Mala… yet.
- Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré is being considered as an option to replace Mo Salah when he leaves Liverpool this summer.
