COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team fell to The Citadel, 4-0, Tuesday night (April 28) at Founders Park.
The Gamecocks had three hits on the night – singles from Talmadge LeCroy, Jake Randolph and Will Craddock. The Citadel scored two runs in the third inning off of a single from Christian Stratis. The Bulldogs added a single run in the seventh and ninth frames.
Josh Gunther had the start and took the loss, allowing a run with no hits and two strikeouts in two-plus innings. Connor Chicoli struck out four in 4.2 innings, allowing six hits and a run with a walk. Josh Gregoire had two strikeouts in 1.2 innings and Elijah Foster came in and had a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.
POSTGAME NOTES
- The Citadel won both games of the two-game midweek series this season.
- The Gamecocks were shut out for the fourth time this season.
- Dawson Harman extended his reached base streak to 10 games with a hit by pitch in the seventh.

Carolina travels to Baton Rouge, La., for a three-game SEC series with LSU beginning Friday night (May 1) at 7:30 p.m. Eastern (6:30 p.m. Central).
