The beauty of a five-month-long basketball season is that it leaves room for pauses – a mid-season exhale, even. For the WNBA, it arrives in the form of All-Star Weekend. It’s a moment when the league’s best fans come together to vote on who and what they want to see, creating a weekend built around the All-Star Game, the 3-Point Contest, and a series of, what’s supposed to be, lighthearted challenges. Unless you caught any part of the Stud Budz livestream, then it was more like a weekend-bender partying with a little side of hoops.
Although the weekend is centered around basketball and partying, the main event has quietly become fashion. Players have shown up ready to make statements, debut new looks, new partnerships with stylists and, yes, occasionally hard-launch new relationships along the way. This year, more than ever, it felt like stylists were part of the equation, helping players hone in and polish their sense of style. The influence and emblem of basketball was everywhere, whether through stitched motifs, graphic details, or the written across letterman jackets, cargo pants, and t-shirts.
Custom pieces were also trending this red-carpet, with more masculine, blinged-out, and colorful suits were the center of the carpet. Along with this, we saw sleek monochromatic moments. Ombré became one of the defining looks of the weekend, especially as the All-Star Game warm-up uniforms echoed the same gradient effect. From the orange carpet to the after-parties, everyone embraced the chance to have a little fun—and we rounded up the best fits from the weekend below.

Starting off strong and purrrrfectly feline, Johnson arrived in a full leopard look. One of the first to step onto the carpet and, arguably, one of the most memorable, the look proved that a statement piece does not need to sacrifice sophistication. While the look is centered around a feminine, instinctive print, its foundation is distinctly menswear: a carefully constructed silhouette defined by texture, proportion, and texture. The Bent Kahina men’s wool-knit polka bomber and trouser set highlights the beauty of natural fibers, while a leather interior adds an unexpected layer of dimension. And of course, can any WNBA fit be completled with a Coach leather flap bag? We think not.

In the interest of keeping things professional, I’d simply call this a beautiful gown, in the likeness of the late Patti Label. . But the more honest assessment? The era of the va-va-voom Victoria’s Secret Angel has officially made its return. Bombshell is back and is woven into every detail of this look,from the voluminous, brushed-out curls to the sculpted, heart-shaped corseted bodice and feathered, flapper-inspired train. It’s unabashedly glam in a way fashion has been flirting with again: less understated, more outwardly feminine. Ms. Irifaen, no notes.

Sometimes the abs are the outfit or, at the very least, the best accessory. Fortunately, Gray's ensemble had enough substance to match the spectacle. Arriving in a Nextberries look, he wore a subversive, angular cropped zip-up jumper emblazoned with graphic detailing, paired with voluminous, sculptural trousers that echoed the same architectural sensibility. The result felt like a Men in Black-inflected reinterpretation of a womenswear jumpsuit: futuristic, precise, and intentionally disruptive. But the collection's most compelling feature wasn't immediately visible. Embedded NFC technology allowed guests to scan a patch on the garment and instantly access the wearer's profile—a reminder that, in this case, the clothes quite literally did all the talking.

Continuing the Men in Black—or perhaps Studs in Black—thread, the Stud Budz arrived in tailoring that proved there is more than one way to wear a suit. Natisha Hiedeman embraced texture, stepping out in an embossed, rugged jacket punctuated with red accents, while Williams took the opposite approach in a sleek leather-cut jacket paired with oversized pin-striped trousers.
