As players, fans, family members and everyone in between prepare for the highly anticipated 2026 NBA Finals, there have already been great quotes and plenty of enjoyable videos. However, an early winner for the best NBA Finals video didn't come from who you'd expect. Not a player, a popular celebrity, or even one of the dozens of media accounts covering every angle of San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks. It came from Devin Vassell's cousin and it perfectly sums up the excitement in San Antonio surrounding the Spurs.
Vassell's cousin posted a video on TikTok with a caption overlaying it that reads, "Walking into my grandmother's house and realizing I am no longer her favorite grand child." The camera then pans over to show a literal shrine of Vassell and the Spurs.
It's hard not to love the excitement from Vassell's grandmother, and the 25-year-old guard's cousin deserves a tip of the cap for taking the impressive shrine and turning it into a bit of comedy.
Vassell is fresh off the seven-game series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, posting averages of 13.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists over 36.1 minutes per game. It was his best scoring series of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, and he, Victor Wembanyama, and the rest of the Spurs will look to keep rolling as they're four wins over the Knicks away from becoming champions.
